The Philly Soccer Show sits down with a Delaware Valley native son in the latest edition of the podcast as KYW’s Greg Orlandini and co-host, PSP writer Eli Pearlman-Storch, are joined by Sporting Kansas City coach Peter Vermes. The Philadelphia Union are on the road to Kansas City on Friday (8:30pm, Fox Soccer).
In part one of the podcast, the Burlington County native and former US National team stalwart speaks frankly about Sporting’s early season struggles, their new stadium Livestrong Park and the job new national team coach Jurgen Klinnsman is doing. He also gives some insight into the type of player the Delaware Valley produces, with so many playing currently and formerly in MLS.
In part two, Greg and Eli break down the Union’s win against the Columbus Crew, the first in eight matches. The game also saw the debut of Zach Pfeffer, the Union’s 16-year-old academy product. Midfielder Roger Torres continued his torrid run, with an assist on the team’s lone goal by Sebastien Le Toux.
Great interview with Vermes – nice to hear from a local lad who done good, although I will wish him nothing but ill will between 8:30pm and 10:30pm on Friday.
Nice post game analysis, too.
