Winners of three of their last four games, the Philadelphia Union are battling to finish a disappointing season on a high note.

This week on the KYW Philly Soccer Show, KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP writer Eli Pearlman-Storch sit down with Union assistant coach/goalkeeper coach Rob Vartughian.

In part one, Coach Vartughian discusses the team’s run of good results as well as his work with No. 1 goalkeeper, Zac MacMath.

In part two, the US National team is set to take on Antigua and Guatemala in World Cup qualifying. They travel to Antigua on Friday and meet Guatemala in Kansas City next Tuesday.

To the surprise of many, the roster for these games leaves out forwards Jozy Altidore and Chris Wondolowski, the leading scorers in the Dutch league and MLS, respectively.

National team coach Jurgen Klinsman has been vocal with his disappointment about Altidore’s poor performances for the USA, even as he tears it up with his club team in the Netherlands.

Greg and Eli discuss what results they expect the team to get in these critically important upcoming matches.
