The Union’s ongoing transformation of the Chester waterfront area continued with the unveiling of Union Yards ahead of the game against Real Salt Lake last Saturday, April 27.

Located directly across from the Sons of Ben tailgate lot, the nearly 40,000-square-foot area is open to all fans to gather and celebrate pre- and post-game. To celebrate the official opening, Philadelphia Union Ring of Honoree Sebastien Le Toux stopped by to serve as a guest bartender at the Dogfish Head Bar.

Previously an industrial building, the brew hall features a 50-foot full bar serving 20 beers on tap as well as wine, liquor, and soft drinks. The 4,000-square-foot main hall is set-up with rows of communal tables and big- screen TVs to showcase games across MLS as well as other Philadelphia sporting events. At one end of the building, the “GIANT Boot Room at Union Yards” features a wall of cleats signed by Union players, legends, and VIPs.

The outdoor area is a 32,500 square feet space that includes communal tables, live music and entertainment, tailgate games, as well as lounge seating and firepits. The lot also features a GIANT branded mural wall for fan photos. Fans can enjoy a variety of food from vendors or select from a menu of burgers and sandwiches.

Open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. every home game, Union Yards will have two season-long specials for the rest of 2024. After all Union home wins, fans can enjoy Dogfish Head Draft beers for just $5. In addition all Sons of Ben Members will receive $2 off all draft beers after the match when showing their S.O.B. membership token at check out.

  1. Thanks for this info. Did not know about the specials after the game. Food options need to be expanded (told them so in my after-game survey). Great vibe after the last game when sixers won in OT’; circa 500 came to watch the last 4 minutes.
