On Tuesday, March 5 the Philadelphia Union hosted the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16 against matchup with LigaMX club CF Pachuca. The match finished a 0-0 draw, but the scoreline undersells the chances both teams had to score throughout the game. Each team missed multiple chances with attacking players in a one-on-one matchup with the goalkeeper.
The game featured to major lineup modifications for the Union: The return of goalkeeper Andre Blake and Nathan Harriel lined up at center back due to the suspensions of Jack Elliott and Damion Lowe for a red card and yellow card accumulation respectively.
The Union will travel to Pachuca next week for the second leg of the match. The Union will carry an advantage in that game as away goals scored by the Union in that game will serve as a tiebreaker should the score be level at the end of regulation. Next up, the Union play the Seattle Sounders at home on Saturday night.
