Tanner extension (and original signing) – arguably the best Union signing ever.
.
Oravec has been like a ghost ever since his signing. What happened? Just made surplus by Brujo?
My take is that it is a case of Brujo being that damn amazing as much as Oravec being bad.
–
Curtin talked about how Oravec had issues adjusting and had issues settlings. But if we had an urge to find our next #6, he probably would have gotten a chance. Instead Brujo took that position by the throat day 1 and is closer to being the best #6 in the league than providing any sort of (non suspension) opening for his back ups to get a minute.
–
And then after that it basically became a snowball effect. Even if Oravec righted the ship and played well in training, where and when was he going to get minutes? Especially since we have a assembly line of HGs who are in competition with him for any sort of midfield minutes.
That makes sense. I hand’t considered the HG competition in addition to Brujo.
The Union have used Elliot and eighteen year olds in the midfield this season when Martinez has been unavailable. There’s far more keeping Oravec out of the lineup than just the talent of El Brujo.
Thumbs up on re-signing ET. I’m sure that wasn’t cheap.
Does this mean that Matej is no longer occupying an int’l roster spot?
He wasn’t since he was loaned to Union 2. Very strange… was he homesick? Very young. Peace. Do well.

One of the Top 5 Union days in the past 12 years.
PS… Chris Albright should be next.
Great Job Chris!!!!
Shame about Matej. Let’s hope he does well back home…great Tanner extension! The guy has been our best signing ever!!
Came here to say that the Ernst extension is the best re-signing we could possibly ask for. Better than any player. Seems that is a consensus. Glad he likes Philly!
