Real Vidas 1 – 0 YTP FC

Brendan Kelly got it started for Real Vidas in the 25th minute, scoring what’d be the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win for the Vidas side. “Quality match”, said captain Evan Gibbs, “but the early goal and some solid defense kept YTP away.” Keeper Christian Sorteberg played excellently throughout the game, including one crucial play in the 80th where he pushed a shot onto the post and then dove in bravely to cover up the rebound. The result sees Real Vidas stay near the top of the table, in 2nd on 10pts, as they look head into a bye week. YTP sit in the lower-midtable on 4pts, and they’ll play FC SouthHouse next week.

FC SouthHouse 4 – 2 Stoney United

Old rivals FC SouthHouse and Stoney United played a great game for the neutral over the weekend, with SouthHouse winning 4-2 in an exciting affair. MOTM SouthHouse GK Amzovski. Finn Reese scored twice eary before Stoney got one back through Akpo Omene before halftime. SouthHouse pushed their lead to 3-1 through Knittel on the other side of the break, but Stoney answered back immediately through McCollick. With the score 3-2 the next goal was crucial, and it was SouthHouse’s Drew Sommer seized the moment, pushing SouthHouse’s lead to 4-2 in the 65th minute. The result sees SouthHouse maintain a perfect record on the season, albeit with 2 games in hand, as they’ll play YTP next week. Stoney United’s early season struggles continue, as they’re 1-4, third off bottom. They’ll try to right the ship next week against FC Misconduct.

Icarus FC 5 – 0 FC Misconduct

In what is absolutely one of the shock results of the season, if not Primera recent memory, Icarus FC came out against FC Misconduct, took a 1-0 lead, and then never looked back, going on to thrash the defending Primera champs by a whopping score of 5-0! To put the enormity of this result into perspective, FC Misconduct had not dropped points since before Covid, and went the last Primera season as Invincibles! Ridge Robinson opened the scoring for Icarus in the 15th, creating a 1-0 lead that they brought into halftime. The Icarus gaffer must have then given quite the talk, as his boys came out in the second half and took the game by the scruff of the neck. Robinson had his hat-trick by the 64th, before Javier Bermudez and Murray Freedman scored the goals which put the icing on the cake. Ridge Robinson has been the revelation for Icarus, taking what was a midtable side last year and vaulting them to the top of the table. Misconduct’s Blake Fink called him “Big, strong, with a solid first touch and clearly a sight for goal. I’m sure he’ll continue to cause problems for other teams this season.” As far as the result for his team, “We’ve given out our fair share of those results over the years, so it’s only fair we took one to the chin… We’ll use it as a much needed wake up call.” Misconduct will try to get back to their familiar winning ways against Stoney United, while Icarus will try to stay red-hot against Philadelphia Legends FC.

Philadelphia Corinthians FC 2 – 0 FC Tigre

Philadelphia Corinthians scored both goals and played stout defense in a 2-0 win against FC Tigre over the weekend. John Underwood scored the first, and ultimately game-winning goal, in the 17th, and Matthew Hull scored the other in the 56th. The result also brought Corinthians their first elusive clean sheet of the season. “That’s the pride and joy of our defense so it was good to get that going,” said captain Sam Vale. Corinthians contended for the Primera title last year, ultimately falling short against FC Misconduct, but with Misconduct seemingly showing weakness this year, Corinthians are looking to take their chance. “The boys are getting better and the thing is I don’t think we are anywhere near our potential,” said Vale. They’ll play Vidas United next week. It’s been a hard season for FC Tigre so far, as they sit bottom of the table on 1pt. They’ll play SMK next week, who are coming off a bye.

PCFC: Underwood, Hull

Vidas United 2 – 3 Philadelphia Legends FC

Philly Legends built a 3-0 first half lead that ended up being too much for Vidas to overcome, with Ebere Goodluck scoring a brace on 26′ and 32′ to esablish the lead in a MOTM performance. “He wasn’t happy with me,” said captain Mitchell Torh, “Said he needed a hat-trick I didn’t give him!” Now that’s the attitude you want out of your attackers! For Vidas, it was a disappointing result. “Can’t dig yourself a three goal deficit and expect much,” said captain Nolan Bair. “The lads fought hard in the second half… we take it in stride and move on to a rivalry match up next weekend.” Vidas will be playing Philadelphia Corinthians FC, who have had a strong season, while Philly Legends will try to keep it going against the ascendant Icarus FC.

Philadelphia Heritage 2-1 Smitty Werben Jagen Man FC

In a crucial match, Philadelphia Heritage snatched a 2-1 victory against Smitty Werben. Slight underdogs coming into the game, Heritage catapulted to second in the league after the win, while Smitty Werben dropped from first to third. It was a close match overall, with both sides enjoying lengthy spells of possession and managing good chances. An even first half was goalless until Arik Misler put Smitty ahead in the 36th minute. Smitty Werben were unable to hold on to their advantage, however, as two Heritage second half goals from Nick Testa and Alan Ferreira gave them a comeback victory. A late barrage from Smitty Werben did not net them the equalizing goal they were looking for. Smitty Werben captain Carson McBain was unhappy with how his side played but still felt they deserved more than a loss. “We played like crap, but they snagged two unfortunate goals,” McBain said. “I don’t think we deserved to win how we played but we didn’t deserve to lose either.” On the other side, Heritage captain Ryan Pereus agreed that either side could have come away with the points. “It was a great game,” Pereus noted. “They are a very good team and it was back and forth for much of the game. We just hung on at the end.” Pereus praised goalscorer Testa’s effort in the second half, noting his goal was a great individual effort that started when he won the ball by himself in a dangerous position for Smitty. Heritage will try to jump to first in the table during their game next week against Bobert Munich, while Smitty Werben will look for a win against Statesmen.

Smitty Werben: Goals- Misler (36’)

Heritage: Goals- Testa (51’), Ferreira (65’) / Yellow cards- Reid (70’), unsporting behavior

Rose Tree Gunners 2-1 Bluestars

Top of the table Rose Tree Gunners continued their winning start to the season with a very close 2-1 victory over Bluestars. Both sides could’ve taken the three points, even after a second half red card that reduced Bluestars to ten men. Rose Tree just edged a narrow first half with a goal from Azab in the 18th minute. A second half full of fireworks truly kicked off in the 58th minute with a controversial second yellow card given to Bluestars’ Akeem Adekanmbi after he made contact with a Rose Tree player’s face near the corner flag. Rose Tree quickly capitalized on their man advantage with the winning goal from Aidan Coyle. But a resilient Bluestars stayed in the game against a tired Rose Tree side with only thirteen players available, as Erikson Tuazama would scratch one back in the 80th minute. Ultimately it was not to be for Bluestars, as the man advantage from Rose Trees pushed them towards victory. Rose Tree captain Dean Giovannopoulos praised his opponent’s performance. “Did we deserve to win? Not really. We had some super defensive tactics and escaped with the points. Bluestars were decent, even with a man down.” Aaron Bartels-Swindels was happy with his team’s performance and effort. “We showed great character to come back with 10 men but just ran out of time to get the equalizer,” he commented. With the same effort given, Bluestars should be a difficult test for Santos next weekend, while Rose Tree will look to make it five wins in five against Cunningham Squires. Bartels-Swindels had simple tactical instructions for his team against Santos: “Try not to go a man down.”

Bluestars: Goals- Tuazama (80’) / Yellow cards- #23 Adekanmbi (28’), dangerous slide tackle, Adekanmbi (58’), excessive contact / Red cards- Adekanmbi (58’), second yellow card offense Rose Tree: Goals- Azab (18’), Coyle (63’)

Santos 6-3 Cracovia

Santos FC got a much needed three points after two straight winless weeks with a 6-3 victory over bottom table Cracovia. While Cracovia’s offense performed well again, their inconsistent defensive play continued. A first half lead from Cracovia after goals from Thomas Di Giulio and captain Eryk Tylek was wiped away after a quickfire second half barrage from Santos. While Cracovia’s Lurenc Koka restored the lead for his side near the hour mark, four more goals from Santos would give the 4th place side the three points, including two goals from Man of the Match Alwin Morgan. Cracovia captain Tylek was unhappy about another poor second half performance from his team. “Another frustrating second half,” Tylek commented. Their subs played very well. We scored from a great through ball to go up 3-2, but they scored from a cross right away. After that our energy dropped.” Santos captain Marcelo Osorio-Soto had praise for his opposition. “The game was closer than it looked. It could have easily been 3-0 at the end of the first half.” Osorio-Soto noted a great performance from midfielder Mo Komate as key to their second half performance. Santos have a game coming up against midtable Bluestars, while Cracovia will still search for their first win against this week’s big winner Hunting Park.

Santos: Goals- Aoki (45′), Wilson (49’), Kamagate (69′), Morgan (79′, 85′), Oliveras (82′) / Yellow cards- Clyde (47′) persistent complaining

Cracovia: Goals- Di Gulio (34′), Tylek (36′), Koka (58′)/ Yellow cards- Hoppes (12′) dangerous slide tackle

Hunting Park 6-0 Philadelphia Deportivo

A definitive victory pushed Hunting Park into 5th in the table with a game in hand on some of their promotion rivals after a 6-0 win over ten man Philadelphia Deportivo. Hunting Park, after starting off the year with a difficult loss to Santos, have won three in a row. The game was hugely altered in the first half after Depor’s Mohamed Asker received a straight red card for making a last man foul during a Hunting Park breakaway. The man advantage for Hunting Park would prove crucial, as they would add two goals to go along with their player advantage in the first half after a brace from Man of the Match Drame. Four goals within the first twenty minutes of the second half ended the game, including a quick brace from Brooks. Hunting Park will try to continue their positive momentum next week against Cracovia, while Depor will try to pick up the pieces after three straight losses against Loose Cannons.

Hunting Park: Goals- Drame (32’, 42’), Biraks (50’), Brooks (60’, 65’), Masks (65’) / Yellow cards- Drame (53’) reckless challenge

Deportivo: Red card- Asker, last man tackle

Statesmen 2-0 FC Bobert Munich

A second victory of the season for Statesmen pushed them into the top half of the table with a game in hand over some of their competitors. The 2-0 result dropped Bobert Munich into 8th, but they also have a game in hand to make up some ground on their opponents. It was a crucial victory for Statesmen, who had lost two in a row before the match. The game was a scrappy affair, with both sides pressing hard and lots of fast counter attacking. Both teams missed solid chances to go ahead in the first half. The second half belonged to Statesmen however, and specifically to Man of the Match Kwamina Thompson. Thompson scored a second half brace, providing two moments of quality in a very tight half. Statesmen face third placed Smitty Werben in an effort to start a winning streak, while Bobert Munich will try to bounce back against second place Heritage.

Statesmen FC: Goals- Thompson (55′, 81′)

Cunningham Squires 1-1 Loose Cannons FC

A 1-1 draw did not change much for either Cunningham Squires or Loose Cannons, as both teams remained in the bottom four at the end of the week. A scrappy affair saw both sides have opportunities to put the other away. The scoring was started by Loose Cannons’ Edwards in the 35’ minute. Cunningha would immediately respond to the Cannons going ahead, however, as Bruno equalized in the 40th minute. The scoring would end here, as an uneventful second half featured a few missed chances from both sides. Both sides need points badly from their next few games in order to avoid a relegation battle with Cracovia and Deportivo. Cunningham Squires face a difficult task in their attempt to move up the table against first place Rose Tree Gunners, while Loose Cannons face fellow relegation strugglers Depor in a crucial match for survival.

Cunningham: Goals- Bruno (40’) Loose Cannons: Goals- Edwards (35’) / Yellow cards- Bahr (67’) unsporting behavior

Berber United 1-0 Brothers of the Gourd FC

Week five commenced with the Tercera table slowly starting to take shape, with teams falling into positions they may or may not have anticipated. Berber United was one of the top squads in the division in the fall and they found themselves in the upper echelon after the first few weeks of the Spring with their trademark attacking and finishing. Brothers of the Gourd FC has had somewhat of an inconsistent start to the season, but have the confidence and skill to turn things around. The lone goal of the game came from Berber United through Smail Azizi in the 15th minute. Despite carving out a few goal scoring opportunities, the Brothers were unable to find the back of the net in the game. Berber found themselves in a different place, having to win the game with more industry rather than with the flair that normally secure their three points. The inconsistency continues for the Brothers, but they will try to get themselves back to winning ways at the weekend when they take on Drexel Shaft. Berber United will battle with Barenjager SC.

BU: Goals- S. Azizi (15’)

Alamo FC 3-3 Oaklyn United FC

The first game played in New Jersey on the day showcased a goal scoring onslaught that would have neutrals and attacking football lovers on the edge of their seats. Alamo FC started the season off with two straight losses, then parlayed that into back to back wins coming into this game. The Lions of Oaklyn United FC have played the fewest games out of any team in the division, securing draws in those matches. Alamo FC were the team in control with two goals in six minutes halfway through the first half. The Lions were able to grab a goal back three minutes before the halftime whistle. A shuffle in strategy for the black and white were able to reward them with an equalizer a few minutes before the hour mark. Not even five minutes later, however, Oaklyn United grabbed the go ahead goal to turn the game on its head. Alamo had a chance to equalize when they were awarded a penalty kick, but the attempt was expertly saved by the Lions’ goalkeeper. Alamo were eventually able to get their equalizer in the last kicks of the game to salvage a point in a contest full of end to end action. The Lions remain undefeated on the season but still winless from the result having three points and Alamo FC get their first draw now with seven points. Oaklyn United will try to turn their draw into a win at the coming Saturday when they square off in an all New Jersey clash against Hees FC. Alamo FC will go up against KRL Trading.

Liberty City FC 5-2 Drexel Shaft

The second game in Bordentown as well as the brunch time matchup brought about a battle of the league debutants. Drexel Shaft had won their game the previous week and were looking to continue with that momentum into this game. Their opponents, Liberty City FC, had drawn the previous week and were trying to string a run of wins together with the season entering its heaviest point. Liberty City came out flying with a goal twelve minutes in off a bullet header from center back Luke Rogers. Drexel Shaft got into the goal scoring action as well seven minutes later from Shota Kobiashvili. Liberty City FC were able to retake the lead in the 26th minute. Captain Grayson Rogers contributed with a goal as well in the 37th minute to see the first half end 3-1 to Liberty City. At the hour mark, Drexel Shaft got a goal back to put the game at 3-2 but seven minutes later Liberty City’s Dalton Tenney stepped up with a brace to see the game stay out of reach for Drexel Shaft. A seven-goal affair saw Liberty City FC run away with the three points and will look to double it at the weekend when they take on SC Corinthians. Drexel Shaft suffered their first loss in this one and will try to shake it off when they square off with Brothers of the Gourd FC.

LCFC: Goals- L. Rogers (12’), A. Sterle (26’), G. Rogers (37’), D. Tenney (67’, 70’)

DS: Goals- S. Kobiashvili (19’), J. Goodshadt (60’)

Lost FC 0-6 Dolphinbros

In Northeast Philadelphia, right off Frankford Avenue in Mayfair, the stage was set for two teams to face off, teams that were staring down drastically opposing starts to the season. Lost FC has had a torrid time of it so far this campaign, scoring only one goal in their four games. Dolphinbros, on the other hand, have been able to walk away with points in the games that they have played, notching a win and a draw. Dolphinbros put more pressure on Lost FC to find their shooting boots and unfortunately, Lost were not up to the challenge. Dolphinbros ran away with this game, with every one of their players appearing to be a serious goal threat. The game was close early on, with Lost FC conceding just the one goal in the first half. However, the second half was a completely different tale as Dolphinbros proceeded to bury five goals in the second 45, beginning as early as the 48th minute. The league newcomers continue to collect points and will seek to grab three more points at the coming Saturday when they take on FC Burlington. Lost FC can still dig themselves out of trouble but will need to begin as soon as possible with their next opponents, newly promoted Sunbears FC.

DPB: Goals- Eleisera (28’, 48’), J. Barrenechea (57’), S. Gray (70’), A. Powell (75’), R. Vila (85’)

SC Corinthians 6-2 KRL Trading

Bristol Township Park was the setting for the late morning matchup between two squads in desperate need of upward momentum. SC Corinthians had been finding serious issue picking up points thus far, losing three straight coming into the match. KRL Trading had faired slightly better as they were able to pick up a point the previous weekend. SC Corinthians was the hungrier of the two squads as they walked away the clear cut victors in the game. Two braces, one by Carlos Ruthner and the other by Thiago Lage for the Anchors was the driving force in the match as they played an overwhelming game of football that left KRL Trading grasping for answers. KRL Trading found themselves down a man for a good portion of the match from a red card after two yellows, leaving plenty of space for Corinthians to continue to impose their will on the contest. KRL Trading, wanting to put this loss behind them will set their sights on Saturday to square off against Alamo FC. SC Corinthians, confident after securing their first win of the season will try to make it two in a row when they match up against Liberty City FC in what should be a truly enticing battle.

SCC: Goals- T. Lage (2), C. Moore, C. Ruthner (2), TM. Silva / Yellow: M. Ribeiro

KRLT: Goals- Schmutz (2) / Yellow: R. Lewis, A. Lyle / Red: A. Lyle (2nd yellow)

Hees FC 1-1 Sunbears FC

In the late afternoon, James Ramp Turf Field was the venue for another eye catching match up in the Tercera division. Hees FC as well as Sunbears FC had started their campaigns in the right direction, picking up points in all of their games. However, both squads, in their previous match suffered their first losses in massive derby games. In this affair, both teams exchanged plenty of goal scoring chances in the first half but neither team was able to find the breakthrough. Action really started to pick up in the second half, as right at the hour mark the Sunbears struck the first goal of the game. Sunbears FC, normally a defensively sound squad, going a goal up would spell doom for their opponents as it did in their promotion campaign in the Fall. Hees FC, however, did not take conceding lightly and hit back at their opposition seven minutes later to see the game reach its full complement of goals on the day. Both the Sunbears and Hees FC walk away with a share of the spoils in a tightly contested match, played with intensity, intelligence, and poise. Hees FC will take their draw into the weekend when they match up against Oaklyn United FC in another South Jersey derby. Sunbears FC will go on to face off against struggling Lost FC.

HFC: Goals- Z. Goldberg (67′) / Yellow: D. Lim (27′), S. Beluch (76′), Z. Goldberg (80′)

SFC: Goals- J. Kutai (60′)

FC Burlington 5-2 Barenjager SC

The last game of the day in the division was a late afternoon matchup featuring two teams coming off derby wins the previous week. FC Burlington walked away with a win in a barnstormer of a South Jersey clash and Barenjager SC was able to grab three points in the Derby of the Ultimate Predator. Keen to build on their derby wins, both squads lined up to give supporters and neutrals alike a seven-goal affair. Nixon Soglo, the main sharpshooter for the Schnauzers, opened the scoring in the game with a finish that has become a trademark for the attacker. Barenjager was hit again with a second barrel a few minutes later, from more sustained pressure from FC Burlington that notched a goal for Shane Dooley, another in-form attacker for the Dogs. The Bear Hunters were able to grab one back before halftime to set up an enticing second half of play. The Schnauzers were not deterred by the break and were back amongst the goals fairly quickly to make the game 3-1. The game was an absolute showcase for the aforementioned Soglo as he was able to bag a hattrick, sprinkling in some silky skill moves for good measure. The Bear Hunters were able to get a goal in the second period but FC Burlington held a solid grip on the second half and walked away with a truly decisive win. Barenjager SC was unable to make it two in a row but will try to turn things around at the coming Saturday when they square off against the swashbuckling Berber United. FC Burlington makes it back-to-back wins for the first time in the season and will be looking for the trifecta on Saturday when they take on debutants, Dolphinbros.

Devon SC 0 – 2 Club Sandwich

In a rainy morning at the lighthouse soccer field, we had matchup between two teams with different form as Devon SC was trying to reverse their 2-game losing streak against the unbeaten Club Sandwich. It was a physical without many clear chances until a goal kick was launched from Club Sandwich in the 27th minute that was flicked on by Youssef for #6 Sawaged to run onto and score the opener for his team that would keep the lead until the half. In the second half Devon SC came out looking for the tie managing to keep Club Sandwich against their goal but unable to break their defense. Club Sandwich’s defensive effort were later reward when #31 Begolly launched a long distance free kick that would find the back of the net to secure Club Sandwich the 3 points and keep them on their fantastic run. Devon SC will try to snap out of their losing run next week when they face Philly Skyliners while Club Sandwich will hope to keep their unbeaten status against Dead Ball SC.

Vidas FC 5-5 Philly Skyliners FC

At RAMP soccer field, it was a thriller of a game between Vidas FC and Philly Skyliners that ended with an amazing 10 goal total. With Vidas FC getting shutout last week in their 1-0 lost and Philly Skyliners missing action due to their game postponement, the table was set for a showdown with two teams desperate for some scoring. Goals came quick with Vidas taking the lead at the 5th minute mark through #11 Roszkowski but then receiving a quick response to tie the game from Philly Skyliners and #19 Sullivan just a minute later. Both teams saw chances during the remainder of first half but it was Philly Skyliners who were more clinical and would go up 4-1 to the half. The second time would also see goals early as a quick goal from #23 Smith would set the table for Vidas to try to amount a comeback that would see them tie the game after a brace from #11 Barnes. When it looked like Vidas had all the momentum after tying the game, it was #2 Amoako who would score to give Philly Skyliners a late lead but righ before the end of the game, #11 Barnes would secure a hat trick and his MOTM status with a goal that would give his team a point while denying Philly Skyliners their first win of the season. Vidas would hope to keep their scoring frorm when they face Rebels in their next game while Philly Skyliners will try their luck again for that first win next week against Devon SC.

Deadball SC 6-0 Leaders FC

The first game of the day at the Bordertown SC grass field saw Deadball SC face Leaders FC with both teams looking for a win after each failed short of doing so last week. It was a rough game for Leaders FC who were shorthanded as they started the game with 7 players, situation of which Deadball took advantage getting an early lead. Leaders FC was able to add a few players as the game went on but being down 2-0 at the half proved to be a hill too big to climb against a Deadball SC squad that was hungry for their first victory of the season after a few close games with unlucky results. #3 Andrusko showed no mercy for his opposition scoring a total 4 goals in the first hour of the game to lead his team to a 6-0 win that would see them climb a few positions in the table. Andrusko and Deadball SC will look to keep their shooting tuned for next week when they face the unbeaten Club Sandwich, while Leaders FC will try to get out of their current losing streak when they face Fishtown FC.

Goals – Dead Ball SC: #3 Andrusko (5′)(43′) (47′ PK) (60′), #11 Bordia (80′), #6 Cortes (88′) \

Maccabi Philly 0 – 6 Rebels

On the final game of the day at Bristol Municipal Park, it was Maccabi Philly coming back into action after a postponement last week and it would be a tough one facing a Rebels team battling at the top of the standings. Rebels took control of the game early with a quick goal by #1 Thomas at the 5-minute mark and would not let out through the remainder of the game. Rebels would control the tempo and get a second one through #4 Aly before going to half time. The second half would be no different, with Rebels dominating the game from the beginning and scoring a quick 2 goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half to put the game away. Maccabi Philly could not quite find their game, maybe due to the extended time between their last game and now, and would end up conceding 2 more goals before the end of the game. Maccabi’s captain Levy wants no excuses and noted “We lost to a better team than us” and he is hoping for a better result next week when they face SJ Gentlemen. The Rebels on the other hand, will look to make it 3 wins in a row to stay at the top of the table when they face Vidas FC.

Goals – Rebels: #1 Thomas (5′); #4 Aly (33′); #14 Kelley (57′,88′); #17 Betro (58′)’ #49 Augustin (63′)

MOTM: Rebels – #14 Kelley

Fishtown FC 1 – 1 Nations United

On an early morning game at the Lighthouse soccer fields it was Fishtown FC facing Nations United with both teams looking for 3 points to keep battling at the top of the table after neither of them was able to secure a win last week. It was a tough game on a wet surface. Neither team was able to take their respective chances until Fishtown Fc was able to take the lead thorugh #11 Gulama who has now scored on all of Fishtown FC games to date. The game kept along and Nations United kept looking for a tie which they would get after being awarded a corner kick was played into the box for the equalizer. The tie is not really helpful for either team in their chase for the top but they will both try again next week when Nations United faces Philadelphia Falcons while Fishtown FC will face Leaders FC.

FC Delta 4 – 1 UCFC

Continuing their run of good form, FC Delta (3-1-0) headed into their match against the winless and often over matched UCFC (0-5-0) still celebrating their week 4 rout against Still Processing FC. UCFC jumped out to an early lead with a quick goal by #22 Aude in the 6th minute. FC Delta didnt take long to tie it up 1-1 when #80 Durant and Man of The Match slotted him his first of 3 goals on the day. Solid defensive adjustments kept UCFC off the score sheet for the reminder of the game and FC Delta snagged one more goal for good measure in the 72nd minute. The 4-1 final has FC Delta just outside the top 3 in Quinto as they sit in 4th place with a game in hand going into their week 6 match up with Oaklyn Academy (4-0-0). UCFC has some real defensive issues they will need to address before heading into their match next week against the ever dangerous Rapid Daybreak FC (3-2-0).

Rapid Daybreak FC 4 – 2 Grapes FC

Rapid Daybreak FC (3-2-0) and Grapes FC (2-1-1) played a tight match that saw alot of possession in the midfield that led to an early 2-1 lead for Grapes FC. Shortly after the break, Man of the Match #1 Dobabilla, would pull Rapid level with his second goal in 15 minutes. He would continue to contribute throughout the reminder of the match as he pulled all the strings on the Rapid offense that saw another 2 goals scored in quick succession in the 65th and 67th minute. The 4-2 win over Grapes FC keeps the momentum going in the right direction for Rapid Daybreak FC who take on last pace UCFC (0-5-0) in week 6. Inter Phila 4 – 2 Mark Walhbergs Cousins

In a rough and tumble game full of poor passes and wayward shots, Inter Phila (4-1-0) escaped the first half of their match against Mark Wahlbergs Cousins (0-3-0) only trailing 1-0. MWC had multiple chances to increase their lead to 4 but watched their shots go wide on open looks and had a free kick turned away with a great save by Inter’s goalie. The 2nd half played out much better for Inter were able to finally find space and connect passes that werent just in their defensive half of the pitch. Inter would tie it up in the 53rd minute with a PK converted and would would never look back, scoring another goal right after in the 55th minute to take the lead and all 3 points as they would put the game away with goals in the 75th and 88th minute. MWC would counter with a quick goal in the 88th minute but their come back would fall short as they walk away dropping points for the 3rd straight match. Mark Walhbergs Cousins will need to hang tough and turn it around when they face Washington Square SC (1-3-0) in week 6. Inter Phila enjoy their time atop of the standings and look to keep the #2 spot after their match in week 6 against mid table Grapes FC (2-1-1)

Sporting Philadelphia FC 4 – 2 Still Processing FC

Averaging just around 6 goals per game, Sporting Philadelphia FC (4-0-1) kept the goal scoring streak rolling against Still Processing FC (0-4-0) who did a good job of keeping it close against the 1st place Sporting Philadelphia but still let in a handful goals. With the score of 2-1 in favor of Sporting at the start of the 2nd half, they would find themselves ahead by 2 goals when #20 Taylon capped off his Man of The Match performance with a brace that would carry Sporting to a 4-2 win over a frustrated Still Processing FC who are clearing still trying to process a defensive shape that fits their playing style. Sporting Philadelphia FC managed to keep themselves upright in the 2nd half, after going to ground twice in the first half which resulted in two yellow card cautions. Sporting best be on their best behavior when they take on New Wave FC (2-1-1) as an upset New Wave FC is a dangerous New Wave FC. Still Processing FC will face off against a very confident Telle Bouche (1-3-1) who do not intend on dropping any more points this season, expecting to run out the season on a unbeaten streak and will be another tough task for the leaky defense of Still Processing FC.

Telle Bouche 1 – 1 New Wave FC

Coming off their first win of the season, Telle Bouche (1-3-1), found themselves down a goal just past the half hour mark with New Wave FC (2-1-1) taking advantage of a midfield that allowed constant pressure and notching their goal in the 33rd minute. Telle Bouche would find the equalizer just 10 minutes later bringing the game level just before the end of the half. Both teams pressed hard in the second half looking for that go-ahead goal but it was New Wave FC that created the most dangerous chances on goal. Telle Bouche secured the hard fought draw and did so on the back of the stellar goalie who put in a performance worthy of his Man of The Match accolade. Telle Bouche and their goalie will hopefully get a break when they take on the winless Still Processing FC (0-4-0) and New Wave FC will have a tough match ahead when they see 1st place Sporting Philadelphia FC (4-0-1) in week 6.

Hamilton FC 1 – 0 Philadelphia Strikers

After starting the season off strong, Hamilton FC (3-2-0) looked to pull out a result after dropping their last 2 matches when they took on the Philadelphia Strikers (0-4-1) who were winless going into the match against Hamilton. Both teams did a lot of ball watching, allowing their opponent to have the midfield and move the ball freely but fail to convert on any chances that presented. Heading into the 2nd half with a scoreless draw in sight for both teams, Hamilton started to gain possession and move the ball around with purpose. It would take 69 minutes for either team to create a quality chance and #00 Savage from Hamilton FC pounced on a loose ball and saw his shot beat the Strikers keeper for the 1-0 lead and the win for his team. Hamilton FC will look to continue their winning ways against Dyslexia Untied (3-1-1) in week 6. Philadelphia Strikers have a tall task ahead in their week 6 match up against the always dangerous Boys Do Cry FC (3-2-0) and their star striker Steve Tice.

Boys Do Cry 4 – 0 FC BTC

Fresh of their League Cup loss on Wednesday, Boys Do Cry FC (3-2-0) took their frustration out on FC BTC (2-3-0) who started the match with only 9 players. FC BTC would eventually get 11 players on the pitch but no subs against the fast moving offense of Boys Do Cry FC did not bode well for FC BTC who were clearly out ran and over worked by the speed of BDC FC. Starting off the goals early, Man of the Match #19 Tice would put the Boys ahead in just the 6th minute and would continue to control the tempo for the remainder of the game. Tice didnt let his team get caught in transition as they didnt look to press the undermanned FC BTC too the point that would leave them vulnerable for a counter attack in the first half. As the game went on, FC BTC and their tired legs were slowly picked apart as the Boys would put another 3 goals passed them to secure the 4-0 win. Boys Do Cry FC have a very winnable match ahead for them in week 6 as they take on last place Philadelphia Strikers (0-4-1) and FC BTC will need some extra support if they look to take away any points against a tough Rapid Nightfall FC (3-2-0) who are fresh off a disappointing loss in week 5.

Birdeaux 3 – 2 Rapid Nightfall FC

Rapid Nightfall FC (3-2-0) found themselves on the losing end in their match against a resilient Birdeaux FC (2-3-0) who needed all 90 mins to get a result against their opponent. Birdeaux FC would jump ahead 2-0 just shy of the half hour mark and would head into the break feeling confident as Rapid failed to put together any real shots on goal. Rapid Nightfall FC would battle back and bring the game level in the 64th minute with a strike from distance from Zabala and a towering header by Casto. What looked to end 2-2, the match opened up in the last 10 minutes and Birdeaux would get their winner at the death as #1 Bado would put away the game winning goal and snag his first Man of the Match honors. Birdeaux FC will need to keep their team focused as they face Mighty Ducks (4-0-1) in week 6. Rapid Nightfall FC will take on FC BTC (2-3-0) in a game that could make or break them as their remaining schedule is one of the toughest in the division.

S.O.B Athletic 4 – 3 Coyotes FC

Looking to get their first win of the season, S.O.B Athletic (1-3-1) relied heavily on their midfield to control the tempo of the game and frustrate Coyotes FC (1-4-0) with first half pressure that resulted in a lot mistakes by Coyotes FC. The S.O.B’s would take advantage of these early mistakes and would take a 2-0 lead into the half. Coyotes FC would look to play spoiler and in a 6 minute span would take 3-2 lead over the S.O.B’s. A sense of urgency was evident in the high press of S.O.B Athletic who created chance after chance and Man of the Match, #27 Valecci, would get himself a brace and break the hearts of a Coyotes FC team who really thought they secured their first positive result since their first and only win in week 1. The late game heroics see S.O.B Athletic get their first win of the season heading into their week 6 match against Kensington (1-3-1). Coyotes FC who had their first real chance at getting a result in 3 weeks will need another multi-goal performance if they look to stay competitive in their week 6 match against Honey Badgers FC (4-0-1).

Kensington 1 – 1 Honey Badgers FC

1st place and currently undefeated Honey Badgers FC (4-0-1) had their normally proficient offense stymied by the the midfield pressure and high press of Kensington (1-3-1) who found a way to stop the play making of #17 H. Martinez from HB FC. Kensington clearly did their research and used 3 different players to man mark and put the clamps down on the explosive winger that saw the Honey Badgers fail to connect their passes on the small and slick turf surface at Aim Academy. Honey Badgers FC would manage to punch through the defense and take the lead right before the half as #0 G. Martinez would put his team ahead in the 44th minute. The quality of play from both teams would improve drastically as they adjust to the playing surface and connect on quick 1-2 touch passing. Kensington cast aside their modest approach and pressed the defense from start to finish and finally got their goal in the 69th minute, #5 Tari, got the equalizer for Kensington. A well earned draw for Kensington and clearly a missed opportunity for Honey Badgers FC to widen their lead over Mighty Ducks who sit tied with Honey Badgers FC, only separated by a single goal in the goal differential. Kensington will take on S.O.B Athletic (1-3-1) and Honey Badgers FC will square off with Coyotes FC in week 6.
