Philadelphia Union
Saves By Dre in Orlando! Andre Blake will represent the Union at the 2019 MLS All-Star game.
The Union play against New England tomorrow night. Their first match of a three match long road trip.
If you need even more reasons to watch the Union.
World Cup
A pair of penalties sent the USWNT to the World Cup Quarterfinals against France.
Sweden downed Canada 1-0. The US is the only non-European team to advance so far.
Italy and the Netherlands look to continue European dominance in the final Round of 16 matches.
MLS
Having a hand in all four Portland goals, the Timbers’ Diego Valeri is the MLS Player of the Week.
A short week in MLS, still plenty of complaining about officials.
Is another MLSer heading to the Bundesliga?
Gold Cup
Haiti stuns Costa Rica to to take top spot in group B
Andre Blake and Jamaica face Curacao in a wide open group C.
Will the USMNT make changes for tomorrow’s match against Panama?
Copa America
Japan and Ecuador played to a 1-1 draw, eliminating both from the tournament.
Uruguay topped Chile 1-0 to claim group C.
Which Quarterfinal matchup are you most excited for?
I’m having trouble finding this info- but the USMNT definitely play in philly for the quarterfinals right?
Concacaf website, under gold cup, the schedule & results, and finally quarterfinals:
.
Sunday, June 30, either 5:00 pm or 8:30 pm, actual matches still TBD.
American Outlaws sent an email this morning saying they would and started selling tickets for the Linc. $50 + service fee. Just bought 5 in section 129
$70.60 for 1 ticket if you go that route. gotta love ticketmaster
Sinclair not taking that penalty… Canada’s WNT need a retooling.
Don’t forget Bermuda getting their first Gold Cup win last night against Nicaragua.
.
Colombia-Chile is the quarterfinal I’m looking forward to. 2 time defending champions against the only team that went 3-0 in the group stage.
The Haiti game was so fun to watch with the fans going crazy after the win. I seems like USL is well represented with CONCACAF players in this tournament.
.
It’s a shame that the federation doesn’t put some funding into these smaller countries building some infrastructure for their teams. Imagine a new stadium or two in each country and letting them co-host a tournament in the future.
