Philadelphia Union fans will not be able to watch their team play a 2018 knockout round match at Talen Energy Stadium this year. After losing 3-1 at Yankee Stadium Sunday evening, the Union ensured that their first playoff match would be played away.
That does not mean, however, that Union fans can’t watch the match together. That’s where we come in. The Philly Soccer Page will be hosting a watch party at The 700, a bar and Philadelphia soccer mainstay located in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia.
We encourage all Union fans, Sons of Ben, soccer moms, high hopers, Negadelphians, and general footy enthusiasts to join us Wednesday night.
What?
A watch party for all Philadelphia soccer fans to gather and watch the Union take on NYCFC as they fight to advance in the MLS Playoffs.
When?
Wednesday, October 31st. The match starts at 7:00 PM, but we will be there at 6:00 PM to welcome you.
Where?
The 700, 700 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123
How much?
Anyone familiar with The 700 knows there is never a cover. Admission is free, but the Philly Soccer Page will be selling some highly fashionable merchandise. All profits will benefit the site, so we encourage you to check out a t-shirt or two to support our work!
That’s all for now. As ever, the staff at the Philly Soccer Page is grateful for your readership, and we hope to see you this week.
Great idea but already booked with Halloween party. Also got so disappointed at the Piazza during the US Open Cup final that I am not really in the mood to see this team play during a watch party….
The last thing I want to do for any important match in any sport, is watch it with other people. I want to be in a bunker, sat in front of the TV, with sound proofing in the walls for my cussing and yelling when whatever Philly sports team collapses ( last year’s Eagles excluded). It’s definitely not a pretty sight and I wouldn’t want to inflict that on anyone.
I know I’m not el Pachy but….

come on and break the door down
I’ll be waiting
[in a Union kit eating] a pack of sandwiches…”
