In the latest Philly Soccer Show podcast, KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Mike Servedio are joined US national team midfielder Alejandro Bedoya.

The New Jersey-native, the biggest Designated Player signing in Philadelphia Union history, talks about making his Union debut in last Saturday’s 4-0 win over New England Revolution, where he slotted into the midfield spot once held by Vincent Nogueira, who recently returned unexpectedly to France.

Bedoya talks about the adjustment to the his new team and MLS, a league he has never played in before. He also talks about the process involved in bringing him to Philadelphia, a process that took more than a year.

After that, Greg and Mike look ahead to Saturday’s home game against star-studded Toronto FC. It will be a big test for the team as they try to make the climb back up the standings in the Eastern Conference and solidify a playoff berth.

  1. man, i like bedoya a lot. he is a great player and i really like his attitude

  2. Best part about that interview is that Bedoya felt that the Union was his best option. His Easy Coast roots were clearly a factor, but he it’s nice to hear a player of his caliber rate the Union so high. And obviously, having Stewart at the steering wheel must give players a ton more confidence in the club than they might have had in the past.

  3. As mentioned in another thread here..Earlier Stewart…signing of the year!
