There was a lot of action for our locals this week. Here’s what you need to know:
- Lancaster, PA native and Montreal forward Andrew Wenger had a busy week. Last Wednesday he scored a goal in the Impact’s 6-0 Canadian Championship drubbing of Toronto and on Saturday he provided an assist in Montreal’s 2-2 draw with San Jose.
- In that same Saturday match, Philadelphia-born San Jose Earthquakes forward Marcus Tracy received his first MLS minutes of his career, coming on as a late game sub. Tracy was sought by many clubs, including Philadelphia, during last year’s weighted lottery for his right.
- For the first time all season, Philadelphia native Jeff Parke did not play a full match for the Philadelphia Union. Parke came off right before the half with a hamstring injury and looks unlikely to feature next week for the Union.
- Over the last week a trio of locals made the score sheet at the USL Pro level. Tony Donatelli, playing for Tampa Bay, scored a goal in Friday’s 3-1 win over Antigua. Union homegrown player Cristhian Hernandez scored a goal in Wednesday’s 2-1 loss to Charleston. Harrisburg City Islanders teammate Morgan Langley scored the lone goal in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Rochester.
- Overseas, Russell Canouse scored a goal in the fifth minute of the Hoffenheim U19’s 2-2 draw with Stuttgart. It is his first goal in league action this season, despite 21 appearances with the club.

For defenders could you add in clean sheets they helped to contribute to?
Great idea Joel! I’ll work to roll that out over the next few weeks.
Ummm, we seemed to have forgotten this gem from Corey Hertzog:
Wow, don’t know how I didn’t catch that one!
