Drexel University is ranked No. 2 in the CAA and No. 6 in the NSCAA South Atlantic region. The Dragons hosted Delaware on Wednesday night at Vidas field. The Blue Hens struck first with a goal in the 36th minute. Drexel’s Nathan Page responded with an equalizer in the 78th minute, securing a 1-1 draw against the 2011 CAA Champions. Drexel finished the weekend in Atlanta with a 1-0 win at Georgia State. Nathan Page scored his 8th goal of the season on Saturday, earning a spot on Soccer America Men’s Team of the Week and the No. 1 position on the list of Philly Soccer 6 goal scorers. With this win Drexel clinches a trip to the CAA tournament for the first time since 2007.

The Owls are ranked No. 5 in the Atlantic 10 and No. 7 in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic region. Temple hosted A-10 newcomer Butler on Friday night. The Owl’s Cody Calafiore scored 2 goals and Chas Wilson scored another against the Bulldogs to take a 3-0 lead. Butler responded seconds later with a 10 minute scoring rampage to level the game 3-3. Temple goalkeeper Bobby Rosato made 6 saves, but the match ended in a draw after 2 scoreless overtimes. Temple fell to the Saint Louis Billikens 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Ambler Sports Complex. The Owl’s sole goal came from freshman striker Jared Martinelli who is a top ranked player by NCAA Division 1 in two separate assist categories.
La Salle University is ranked No. 9 in the Atlantic 10 and No. 8 in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic region. The Explorers lost 1-0 to the Richmond Spiders on Friday night at McCarthy Stadium. John McCarthy, a top ranked goalkeeper by NCAA Division 1, made 5 saves against the Spiders. La Salle fought, but eventually handed Richmond their first conference win of the season. The Explorers hosted A-10 newcomer VCU (NSCAA Mid-Atlantic No. 4) on Sunday. Jason Plumhoff put La Salle on the board early in the first half, but the Rams bounced back to score 2 in the second half. The Explorers fell to VCU 2-1 at McCarthy Stadium.
The Wildcats are ranked No. 6 in the Big EAST’s Red Division and No. 8 in the NSCAA Northeast region. Villanova’s 7 game unbeaten streak was broken by Syracuse on Wednesday afternoon. The Wildcats fell to the Orange 2-0 despite John Fogarty’s 6 saves. Villanova traveled to Louisville on Saturday to face the Cardinals in front of 2,125 fans. Fogarty stepped up again making 7 saves, but Villanova was eventually shutdown 1-0 at Cardinal Park.

Saint Joseph’s was shutout 1-0 by the Saint Louis Billikens on Friday night at Finnesey Field. This match was Junior Michael Moulton’s first season start as the Hawk’s goalkeeper. St. Joseph’s hosted the Butler Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon. The Hawks fell 2-1 to the Bulldogs in Saint Joseph’s last home game of the season despite a goal from Tim Lazorko. The Hawks are now ranked last in the Atlantic 10.
Penn’s Stephen Baker scored against Yale on Saturday afternoon, but the Quakers fell 2-1 to the Bulldogs at Reese Stadium in New Haven, CT. Penn is ranked last in the Ivy League.
Looking ahead La Salle will be hosting Saint Joseph’s on Friday night and Temple on Sunday afternoon in the Explorer’s last home matches of the season. Villanova will host their last home game against Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon.
