In the latest edition of the Philly Soccer Show podcast, KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Eli Pearlman-Storch are joined by PSP’s Adam Cann. With games coming thick and fast, the focus is on the Philadelphia Union’s hunt for the playoffs. (Click on the links below to listen to each segment.)
In part one, Greg, Eli and Adam look back at the draw with Sporting Kansas City. The Union rescued a point from the match as forward Sebastien Le Toux keeps up his hot streak with another big goal in the 1-1 game.
In part two, the gang begins to break down the playoff picture and offer their predictions for how well the Union will do going into the end of the season. They also look at some of the other teams chasing a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
In part three, the discussion turns to some of the Union players who need to step up their game in the waning days of the season. While Le Toux has found his lost scoring touch, forwards Danny Mwanaga and Jack McInerney have been on a bit of a scoring drought. After that, Greg, Eli and Adam wrap up their look at the playoffs.
That 4-5-1 with Carroll, Okugo, Adu, Torres, Marfan in the middle and Le Toux up top – I’d go to war with that, too.
Wasn’t it Keon instead of Adu? Oh dream world… i wish you were real.
I’d go to two wars with Keon there.
