The Harrisburg City Islanders will continue their USL-2 campaign on City Island Friday night against the last-place Pittsburgh Riverhounds. The Islanders faced a difficult road trip last week but came away from their southern swing of Charlotte and Charleston with a point. They will look to build on their two good, but incomplete performances against the struggling Hounds. Despite the last place standing, Pittsburgh is a team notorious for traveling fan support— look for a good contingent to be on hand to cheer on the Hounds and to heckle the Islanders fans.
Nick Zimmerman of the Philadelphia Union is rumored to be making a second short loan stint to the Islanders for Friday’s contest. Zimmerman provided the game-winner in his last visit to Harrisburg and they will look to his offensive spark once again to help find the back of the net. This is also likely a one game loan as Nowak looks to keep his team sharp over the World Cup break.
