Philadelphia Union’s first U.S. Open Cup qualifier has finally been scheduled for April 27.

The Union will visit the New York Red Bulls at 8 p.m. at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J.  The winner takes on the New England Revolution for the right to progress onward in the tourney.

The U.S. Open Cup is the nation’s oldest knockout competition in soccer, dating back to 1914. Teams from all tiers from the American soccer pyramid — including local amateur teams — can get the opportunity to compete in the tourney.
