His second comeback in as many days.
The current Inter Milan coach claimed “I love it here, I love it here, I love it here” after taking in his former club’s 2-1 defeat of Fulham at Stamford Bridge on Monday. The ex-Chelsea boss said “I believe I will be back one day. I don’t leave any club in mid-season to go to another,” hinting at a possible return as early as next season. Inter have drawn Chelsea in the first round of the Champions League knock out stages and it will be Mourinho’s first return to the stadium where he led Chelsea to back to back EPL titles in 2005 and 2006. The self proclaimed ‘Special One’ has vowed not to celebrate if Inter take down his former club, “If we win I will do nothing. I have a love affair with Chelsea and I will not celebrate. I still love this club and I respect the people here. I respect the fans and I respect the players.” It is known that Mourinho still has close ties to some current Chelsea players including Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho.
Inter were champions of Italy under Mourinho last season but it is believed that the Portuguese manager has been brought in to bring Milan European glory. The Nerazurri were knocked out of Champions League last season by Manchester United with Mourinho renewing his rivalry with Sir Alex Ferguson. Mourinho has had a stormy relationship with the press in Italy and two weeks ago was accused of assaulting a journalist after his side drew away to Atalanta.
Where could “The Special One” land in the EPL? Why not at Anfield, where Rafa Benítez has clearly gone insane.
