The rain held off on Sunday, March 16th as the Philadelphia Union hosted Nashville FC. The game started with the traditional “Banging of the Drum”, but what made this night special was the appearance of Joey Chestnut and Dollar Dog night. Andre Blake was honored by the Union for his 300th game, a new club record, which he earned on March 8th while at Gillette Stadium.
The game between the Union and Nashville, refereed by Pierre-Luc Lauziere, was unbalanced in the calls made against the Union and for Nashville. With a PK not awarded to the Union along with yellow cards being issued to Kai Wagner and Bruno Damiani, the fans were becoming more and more upset with the referring of the game. Olwethu Makhanya was shown a straight red card after he threw the ball towards the head of a Nashville player. During the second half when a PK was issued to Hana Muktar following a collision with Jacob Glesnes, hot dogs and beer rained down from the stands. At the final whistle, what remained of the crowd booed the officiating staff as they left the field.

The Chick-fil-a family of the night enjoyed a visit by Phang while “Hot dogs from Heaven” came down from the rafters.
