On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to follow our Boys in Blue to the Big Apple, capturing their thrilling match against New York City FC at Yankee Stadium. The last time I photographed the Union facing NYCFC, a raccoon hilariously interrupted the game during a home match, stealing the spotlight in what ended as a disappointing 1-2 loss for Philadelphia. However, this time was a completely different story.
Despite the unfamiliar turf, the Philadelphia Union put on an electrifying performance, dominating New York City FC with a stunning 5-1 victory on September 18, 2024.
With five games left in the season, the Union currently hold the 9th and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They will return home this Sunday to take on DC United, where they’ll look to build on this momentum.
