The Boys in Blue return home once again from another Jaws of Defeat match against DC to face the struggling Lions.
Scouting Report: Orlando City SC
Last 5 matches (most recent first) L – L – D – W – D
The Union hold an overall record of 7-5-6 against Orlando City SC. The two teams last met on June 21, 2023, where they drew 2-2. The Union made a second half comeback to earn a point on the road behind goals from Homegrown midfielder Jack McGlynn and midfielder Jose Martinez.
The Lions sit in 14th place in the Eastern Conference with an overall 2-5-3 record, and 1-2-1 on the road. They are -7 on goals against.
Scouting Report: Philadelphia Union

“Come-from-behind results have been common for this year’s Union squad, but Curtin stressed it wasn’t a trend he wanted to see continue, ‘it’s very emotionally draining, physically draining to chase a game from behind.'” If that statement sounds familiar, it’s what PSP published in the preview of the DC United game last week.
Philadelphia sits squarely in the middle of the Eastern Conference in eighth place at 3-2-5, one spot above D.C. United, 10 points behind Messi & Co., and one of four clubs standing on 14 points.
Matchup to Watch: Philly defense vs. itself
We’re repeating ourselves yet again here, but “For a Philadelphia Union defense playing uncharacteristically shaky,” even Orlando could cause problems, especially early in the match.
Player to Watch: McGlynn again
He scored at Orlando in their last match and that “Cultured left foot,” is becoming the youngster’s sobriquet.
Prediction: Philadelphia Union 2-1 Orlando City SC
Over the last 5 games, the Lions have been better on the road than at home. So another early goal against the Boys, but this time the home crowd rallies them to greater effort.
The preview doesn’t mention availability, but my understanding is that Blake is still out injured and Carranza is suspended due to yellow card accumulation.
Carranza is suspended and Curtin said that Uhre would start in his place.
So is Blake injured or “injured”?
Word was he had fluid in his knee but did see him around the concourse after the game!
C’mon the U!!!
Time to DOOP Uhre !
