The week after Memorial Day Weekend can often be a drag; nursing a hangover, sunburn, too many hot dogs and returning to work.

Thankfully, lower league soccer in the Philadelphia area was there to pick up our spirits and take our minds off the aforementioned struggles.

Now that the calendar has turned to June, we are officially, unofficially, in the Summer soccer season. Last week offered plenty of chances for soccer, sun and fun, so just in case you missed it, the Philly Soccer Page local lower league recap for the week of May 30 has you covered.

Eastern Premier Soccer League (EPSL)

• Sunday, June 5 – Real Central NJ 1-5 Salone FC
  • In last week’s Local Lower League Recap Game of the Week, Salone rose to the challenge of needing a win to secure a playoff berth by registering an emphatic 5-1 win and punching their ticket to the EPSL playoffs.
• Sunday, June 5 – Philadelphia Heritage 1-3 Kensington SC
  • In Kensington’s push for they playoffs, they got their win, but needed a loss by Salone to jump them in the standings. Salone handled their business, Kensington finishes in fourth and miss the playoffs by 1 point.
• Sunday, June 5 – Oaklyn United 1-1 Danubia SC

Next Up:

• Salone finish out the regular season on Sunday June 12 vs Oaklyn United at John Bartram HS Field.  Currently the game is listed for 6 p.m. but the time is subject to change so check back for any updates.

United Premier Soccer League (UPSL)

• Philly Lone Star’s game against Amigos FC New York on Saturday June 4 was postposed with a make up date TBD.
  • Lone Star are trying to hold onto a top 6 finish in order to make the playoffs as the UPSL regular season comes to a close.

NISA Nation

• Sunday, June 5 – Atlantic City FC 6-1 Albion SC Delaware
  • ACFC get into the win column with a 6 goal Sunday, including this banger and ice cold walk by Yannick Koffi:
