European club football is officially in its offseason and the Philadelphia Union are on a break for a few weeks, so it’s a perfect time to turn to the American soccer lower leagues to get your soccer fix in.
Luckily, the Philadelphia area has plenty of soccer to check out both in person and from live game broadcasts via Eleven Sports. With the lower leagues in full swing as summer approaches, let’s take a look back at the week of May 23 and keep you up to date on the happenings of the Philadelphia area soccer scene.
Eastern Premier Soccer League (EPSL)
EPSL had the holiday weekend off and return to action on Sunday, June 5:
- Philadelphia Heritage SC vs Kensington SC at 5:30 p.m. at South Philly Super Site
- Kensington need a win and a Salone loss to overtake the third and final playoff spot
- Oaklyn United vs Danubia SC at 6 p.m. at Rowan University
- Real Central NJ vs Salone FC at 8 p.m. at Mercer County Community College

- Salone need a win to hold the third spot in the Delaware River Conference standings
United Premier Soccer League (UPSL)
Philadelphia Lone Star had a bye week in UPSL and travel for an away match on Saturday, June 4:
- Amigos FC New York vs Philadelphia Lone Star FC at 8 p.m.
- This is the Stars’ last regular season game in UPSL. They currently sit in fifth place in the Northeast – American division standings with the top 6 teams qualifying for the playoffs. A few teams below them in the table have games in hand though.
NISA Nation
Atlantic City FC were off in NISA Nation play but return on Sunday, June 5:
- Atlantic City FC vs Albion SC Delaware at 3 p.m. at Rowan University
USL League 2
- Tuesday, May 24 – West Chester United 3-2 Real Central New Jersey
- Thursday, May 26 – West Chester United 2-0 Lehigh Valley United
- Friday, May 27 – Ocean City Nor’easters 2-1 Philadelphia Lone Star
- Sunday, May 29 – Ocean City Nor’easters 2-1 West Chester United

Ukrainian Nationals will also play a friendly against Philadelphia Union II on Sunday, June 5 at 6:00 p.m. at the Ukrainian American Sports Center in North Wales. All proceeds will go towards humanitarian relief in Ukraine.
