Philadelphia Legends FC 1 – 4 Icarus FC

Icarus FC came from 0-1 down against Philadelphia Legends FC to win 4-1 over the weekend, with Ridge Robinson continuing his MVP campaign by scoring all 4 for his squad. Legends took the lead after 22 minutes through Ebere Goodluck, but Robinson equalized shortly afterwards on 25′ for Icarus. The teams reached the half on level terms, but Icarus came out hot with Robinson scoring a second-half hat trick of goals to give Icarus all 3 points. “Ridge had a great game and could have had more”, said Icarus captain Kyle Smyth. “John Neidrach made some really good saves in goal and Matt Heebner was a rock at the back for us,” he added. Philadelphia Legends FC left the game feeling frustrated, “Most of [the goals we conceded] were self-inflicted”, said captain Mitchell Torh. “We need to prepare for games better. That’s a weakness.” He also reported that Ebere Goodluck, who’d scored in consecutive games for Legends, picked up a knock in the first half that may sideline him for some time. “We hope to have him back soon.” Icarus FC sit on the top of the Primera table on 16pts, while Philly Legends are in a four-way tie for 6th on 4pts. Both teams will have a bye next week as the Primera breaks for Footgolf at Juniata Golf Club on Saturday, but Icarus will play YTP FC and Philly Legends will play Philadelphia Corinthians FC when gameplay resumes May 1.

YTP FC 3 – 5 FC SouthHouse

YTP and FC SouthHouse played an exciting game over the weekend at Bonner High School fields, with SouthHouse emerging victorious by a 5-3 scoreline. Finn Reese scored 4 for SouthHouse in a MOTM performance giving SouthHouse all 3pts. Reese and Jeremy Ortiz opened the scoring in the 12th minute, with teams trading goals within a minute. Two goals at the end of the first half, Reese on 37′ and Jon Schauer on 39′, gave SouthHouse the breathing room they’d need for the rest of the game. Reese scored on the other side of the half on 49′ to make it 4-1, then Noah Johnson scored shortly afterwards to drag one back for YTP on 51′. A final Reese goal in the 57th brought SouthHouse to 5 goals; Geoff Schaefer scored a final consolation goal for YTP in the 71st but it was too little too late. “Finn Reese is built different”, said SouthHouse captain John Trueman summarizing the game. “From the early minutes I felt we had control, and dictated the play throughout the entire match. As a team we continue to learn and grow in our defensive structure, leading to much closer games than we would like… We speak nightly on our team’s FIFA Pro Clubs team, so we are tactically growing by the day.” The result sees SouthHouse climb into 3rd place on 12pts, while YTP are in the bottom midtable on 4pts. They’ll each break for CASA’s Footgolf outing at Juniata Golf Club next weekend, where SouthHouse will be submitting a foursome “and accepting challengers… as well as high rollers for ‘closest to the pin’ challenges”. Sure to be an exciting event! They’ll pick up when they return with SouthHouse against FC Tigre and YTP against top of the table Icarus FC.

Vidas United 2 – 5 Philadelphia Corinthians FC

The game was 2-2 at the half between Vidas United and Philadelphia Corinthians FC at the Academy of the New Church on Saturday, but Corinthians came out and broke it open with some good team play in the second half to score three goals unanswered and take all 3pts in a 5-2 victory. John Underwood opened the scoring early for Corinthians, bagging in just the 4th minute, followed up by his teammate Matthew Hull putting Corinthians up 2-0 in the 30th. Vidas struck back immediately when Alex Miller scored less than a minute later, and then Noah Kimelheim brought them all the way to level terms scoring on 38′. The second half would be all Corinthians though. Underwood would score a second in the 75th, and AJ Bishop would go on to score a late brace in the 80th and 88th to put the game to bed. Captain Sam Vale spread the praise around for his Corinthians side, who currently sit 2nd in the Primera. “We have a great attacking setup with a midfield three and defense that is just as good… Matt Hull, Mike Gaito, Mike Newell, and our bench guys all deserve some praise. They put in the work where they are needed. They all know the game well and are great at seeing and making adjustments on the fly.” For Vidas, the struggles continue. They sit at the bottom of the Primera table on 2pts. A bright spot is that their games have been close – their goal different is better than the next 4 teams above them. “Lads just need to keep working hard and the chances will fall our way,” said captain Nolan Bair. Both teams break for Footgolf at Juniata on Saturday, Corinthians are sending Pat Fallon as a representative, “He has a big leg so we’ll se how he does”, and will resume gameplay the week after with Corinthians vs. Philly Legends and Vidas United against their brother club Real Vidas.

FC Tigre 5 – 2 SMK

FC Tigre got their first win of the season over the weekend at YSC Sports against SMK, in an exciting 5-2 game. Austin Kotch opened the scoring in the 11th, but SMK struck back through Bonnetti in the 33rd to send the game into the half knotted at 1. There must have been quite the talk in the Tigre huddle, because they came out with a vengeance in the second half and proceeded to score 4 unanswered goals to blow the game open. Austin Kotch scored in the 51st, and then Christian Fountain scored a rapid-fire brace in the 65th and 68th to really put some distance between Tigre and their opponents, in what was a MOTM performance from him. Kotch would get his hat trick, and Tigre’s 5th goal, in the 75th. Jesse Weick scored in the 80th for SMK, but it was too little too late. “Our team just finished a lot of our chances and played solid defense”, said captain Connor Widerman. “Austin and Christian led the way. Chris Altieri added a couple assists on Austin’s first two goals.” For FC Tigre, who were winless on the season, it was a much needed result. “It helped to go ahead, and we were fairly strong defensively” added Widerman. Tigre now sit 3rd off bottom, one position above the relegation zone. It was an uncharacteristic showing for SMK, who’ve been strong performers since being promoted from the Segunda. “Extremely frustrating game… Had a 10-15 minute stretch where the whole team fell asleep and let 4 in and never could recover from there,” said captain Matt Muench. In what may be the most shocking element of all, given the competitive nature of many games this season, the referees report was extraordinarily complimentary: “Both teams were excellent. A well played game. No issues. No cards. Thank you for the game.” Cheers gentlemen!

FC Misconduct 3 – 2 Stoney United

FC Misconduct came out strong in their weekend fixture against old foes Stoney United, building up a 3-0 lead scoring on 11′, 45′ and 49′. “I thought we played really well,” said captain Blake Fink, “for the first 75 minutes of the game.” That’s when Stoney scored in the 72nd and 73rd to put the game on its head and fight for all 3 points. The final 15 minutes were a frantic affair, but Misconduct showed great composure and saw the game out to keep their 3-2 lead and victory. “We fought back as we have been all year,” said Stoney captain Joe Casaletto. “Give up too many goals early in games even with having more possession.” They’ll break for Footgolf this coming weekend and will pick back up with SouthHouse against FC Tigre and Stoney United entering a bye.

Rose Tree Gunners 2-1 Cunningham Squires

Rose Tree Gunners continued their impressive 100% start to the season with a 2-1 win over Cunningham Squires. Rose Tree sit in first place for the second straight week, even though they have a game in hand on their title rivals. Cunningham Squires made the game difficult for the favorites, however. Rose Tree opened the scoring in the 11th minute from Riley Smith. The end of the first half featured a few big chances with neither side possessing the quality needed to change the scoreline. Early in the second half, Cunningham got their equalizer through William Foster. Rose Tree remained in control of the rest of the second half, however, as their technical skill with the ball took over the game. They found the winner in the 65th minute through Man of the Match Prince Komoh. While Cunningham had a few chances to equalize again in the last quarter of the game, but Rose Tree held strong. Rose Tree captain Dean Giovanopoulos was happy with his side’s performance in a close game. “I think we outplayed the other squad,” Giovanopoulos commented. “We had a couple of big chances the rest of the game, we just couldn’t bury them.” Cunningham captain Jonathan Saltzman thought his team played well, though he had praise for his opponents: “Rose Tree were class, but we missed a gilt-edge chance to tie at 2-1.” Rose Tree have a difficult weekend of matches coming up. First, they face Philadelphia Deportivo on April 29th to try to make it 6 wins in 6, and they follow this game up with a crucial title clash against Smitty Werben on May 1st. Cunningham are still searching for their first win, next against Cracovia.

Philadelphia Heritage 2-1 FC Bobert Munich

Philadelphia Heritage continued their title challenge with a 2-1 win over midtable Bobert Munich. The win, Heritage’s 5th in a row, cemented them in second place, only behind Rose Tree on goal difference. The match was very close, with either side creating opportunities to score. The first half was goalless, and Bobert Munich had a lot of the ball but were unable to break down a rugged Heritage defense. The scoring wouldn’t start until the 67th minute, when key Heritage attacker Tenzin Choedak found the net. Bobert Munich responded in the 82nd minute when Ramadan Bayyan equalized with a slick finish. However, Heritage broke the tie quickly, as Man of the Match Allan Ferreira scored a penalty in the 86th minute to secure the points. Heritage captain Ryan Pereus noted how close the game was. “The game was very even in different ways,” he observed. “They were able to control the midfield a bit more but our defense held firm.” He also said that Heritage possessed a threat on the counter. Heritage will face Loose Cannons next in their title charge, while Bobert Munich will try to move up the table against powerful Santos.

Santos FC 7-2 Bluestars FC

Santos registered another large victory, this time 7-2 over Bluestars FC. After a bit of a rough patch for Santos, including a 6-1 loss, they have won two games in a row by a combined score of 13-5. Bluestars, who were on a good run, were unfortunate to face Santos in such good form. Santos took a commanding early lead through Alwin Morgan, who secured a brace within the first half an hour. The second half belonged to Man of the Match Hernandez, who added a second half hat trick in 25 minutes of play. Bluestars got a couple of late goals to make the scoreline a little more respectable. Bluestars captain Aaron Bartels-Swindels, who suffered an unfortunate arm injury which forced him to leave the match, praised his opponent’s offense. “They had some great finishing,” Bartels-Swindels noted, “and we had a bit of an off day.” Bartels-Swindels will hope that his side can improve their form next against fellow mid table opposition Hunting Park, while Santos will try to reclaim first in the table against Bobert Munich.

Cracovia 5-1 Hunting Park

Cracovia finally won their first game of the year, beating midtable Hunting Park 5-1. It was an especially good result for Cracovia considering Hunting Park had won their last three matches. The win pushed Cracovia off the bottom of the table into 10th, while Hunting Park remain 5th and four points below the top four teams. An unbelievable hat trick from Cracovia’s star attacker Max Spangenthal pegged back Hunting Park before the half hour mark after Hunting Park had opened the scoring in the 19th minute through Michael Wexler. Two second half goals from Cracovia early on would finish the scoring and ensure an easy second half for the winners. Cracovia captain Eryk Tylek was ecstatic about his team’s first win: “It felt great to finally win. We dominated most of the game and most of our goals were upper 90 bangers.” Tylek noted that a shift in midfield personnel was key to the victory. Cracovia will try to win their second game in a row next against fellow relegation candidates Cunningham Squires, while Hunting Park will attempt to find their form against Bluestars.

Smitty Werben Jager Man Jensen FC 2-0 Statesmen FC

After a tough result to fellow title challengers Philadelphia Heritage last week, Smitty Werben FC bounced back with a solid 2-0 victory over Statesmen. The win was necessary for Smitty to remain in third place after Santos also won, with both teams on 13 points and Smitty Werben ahead on goal differential. Smitty Werben enjoyed the lion’s share of possession throughout the game, and could have won by a much bigger margin after hitting the crossbar four times. Smitty Werben opened the scoring in the 26th minute through Nicholas Sample, and Turgut Kilicoglu added the insurance goal in the 68th minute. Carson McBain, captain of Smitty Werben, was happy with how his team bounced back from a disappointing result. “We played simple,” he said about his team’s performance. “I wish we finished better but I do believe we deserved the win.” McBain will lead Smitty Werben out against first place Rose Tree Gunners in a pivotal match for promotion next. Statesmen, who remain in 6th behind Hunting Park United after the loss, face Philadelphia Deportivo next.

Loose Cannons FC 1-0 Philadelphia Deportivo

Loose Cannons, like Cracovia, also earned their first win of the season, beating struggling Philadelphia Deportivo 1-0. The win catapulted the Cannons into 9th, while Depor remain bottom and winless, though they have a game in hand on some of their competition. The game was back and forth throughout the first half, with both sides enjoying spells of possession. Loose Cannons finally broke the deadlock in the 70th minute when Joe DiPre scored. Depor fought to restore parity the rest of the second half but could not find the goal they needed to secure a point. Depor captain Brian Coulter noted how the game could have went either way: “It was a close game. It was very evenly matched and pretty physical between both teams at times.” Coulter said that Loose Cannons were able to breach the Depor midfield at the crucial time to set up the winning goal. Coulter will hope Depor can earn their first win against Rose Tree, while Loose Cannons will try to start a winning streak against Heritage.

Liberty City FC 4-1 SC Corinthians

Bright and early at historic Bryn Athyn College, the stage was set for some delightful football to kick off match week 6. Going into the game Liberty City FC had won their match the previous week, and secured points in a newly promoted season in which they have truly impressed. SC Corinthians have had a vastly different start to the campaign in which they have struggled to secure wins. They were able to get their first win the previous week and were looking towards Liberty City as a springboard to make it two in a row. The match started off how Corinthians wanted with a goal in the opening ten minutes. However, The Anchors were unable to capitalize on their early fortune. In the 27th minute, Liberty City FC equalized through center back Luke Rogers who has proven to be a goal scoring threat in recent games. Ten minutes later, Liberty City took the lead and the first half ended with the game relatively close. Corinthians made numerous efforts to get the game level again, but Liberty City FC were able to slot home two late goals to secure their fourth win in their new division. The win sees Liberty City go into the bye in 2nd place in the table with SC Corinthians sitting a point above the drop in 12th place.

Oaklyn United FC 0-2 Hees FC

Separated by about 20 minutes, the Township of Voorhees and the borough of Oaklyn share important extensions of Camden County and both areas boast a deep connection to the South Jersey football scene. Newly rebranded Hees FC, have sought to claim a piece of the landscape that was paved early in the league by Oaklyn United FC. In the Fall, when these two teams squared off, Hees FC ran away big winners while under their previous name of Rowan CS. This season brings about the White Horse Derby which both teams battled out approximately forty minutes north in Bordentown. Early was the start and early was the end in this match, as Hees started the derby on the front foot lashing home a top corner rocket shot. The second goal for Hees FC came by way of a penalty kick that was buried home with some serious venom. It was clear that the sophomore squad made every effort to build on their win from the previous season and truly brought the intensity that is to be expected from a derby. The Lions, although on the wrong side of the score line, matched Hees FC with every hard tackle, full bloodied foul, and trash talk that one always looks for between local adversaries. Hees FC, temporarily with the bragging rights, will take their win and clean sheet into the bye week tentatively outside of the playoff picture in 6th place. Oaklyn United FC, with their two games in hand still have time to make a playoff push from their current position in 11th.

Brothers of the Gourd FC 2-1 Drexel Shaft

Mid-morning at Bristol Township Park was the setting for the week six clash between Brothers of the Gourd FC and Drexel Shaft. Both teams going into this match were keen to avoid dropping three straight games. The reality of that woeful streak was evident in the gameplay as the Brothers struck first blood at the six-minute mark. Literally a minute later, Drexel Shaft pegged the Brothers back with a goal of their own through Shota Kobiashvili, who has been a major attacking force for Drexel. This set up a fiercely contested final 83 minutes with Drexel and the Brothers frantically chasing down that elusive tie breaking goal. Domenic Santoleri stepped up for Brothers of the Gourd in the 78th minute to slot home the game winner to end their losing streak and maintain that of their opponents. Brothers of the Gourd FC find themselves in a solid launching position going into the bye week as they occupy 8th place, only two points out of the playoffs. Drexel Shaft sit a point behind them in 10th position.

KRL Trading 1-8 Alamo FC

The last game of the day was in the early afternoon and featured two teams on opposite sides of the table. Alamo FC is one of the few teams in the division that has played all their games coming into the week. They have been able to pick up points regularly and were eager to build on the point they earned from their draw the previous Saturday. KRL Trading has desperately needed a spark and have found themselves with a solitary point from the games that they have played going into this match up. Alamo FC took quick advantage of their opponents struggles and piled onto them with a goal within 10 minutes. The floodgates burst wide open from there as Alamo put three more goals away in the first half. The second half was more of the same as Alamo FC continued to run rings around KRL Trading and gave the KRL goalkeeper unending goal mouth action. Other than a consolation goal to spoil the Alamo clean sheet, KRL Trading found themselves once again on the wrong side of the score line going into the bye. With another loss KRL Trading prop up the rest of the division in last place. Alamo’s victory put them in fourth place at 10 points, in a solid position for a late season grab for the title.

Fishtown FC 6-1 Leaders FC

On the first game of the day at Bristol Municipal Park we had Fishtown FC fresh off a tie in their previous game now facing a Leaders FC team that was looking to improve on their previous loss. Fishtown FC fired up the engines early and would score 3 goals in the first 25 minutes to grab an early 3-0 lead with two of those goals coming from their top goal-scorer #11 Gulama. Leaders FC managed to grab one goal back before the half thorugh #11 Samba. Samba’s goal gave Leaders FC some hope as they tried to cut the elad in the second half but failed to finish a couple of chances leaving the door open for Fishtown FC to finish the job netting 3 more on the second half for a final 6-1 score. This marks the 4th straight loss for Leaders FC, who will look to get some points when they face Nations United. On the other hand, the win helps Fishtown FC jump some positions in the table settling now at 3rd while looking forward to their game against 2nd place and still unbeaten Club Sandwich.

Maccabi Philly 1-3 SJ Gentleman

It was an afternoon game at AIM Academy that saw Maccabi Philly face off against SJ Gentleman. Maccabi Philly had a good start to the game, looking to end the SJ Gentleman unbeaten streak and seriously threatening to do so when they found the opener through #13 Padilla at the 34th minute. SJ Gentleman made some adjustments and tighten up their game to find an equalizer at the 43rd minute through #23 Green and not too long after founding themselves ahead with a goal from #2 Fiore. The second half would see less action on the goals until Gentleman’s sealed the win at the very end through a goal from #17 Gluck. Gentleman’s team captain Borowik praised his squad’s mentality to get the comeback “We all hold each other accountable and never play the blame game”. SJ Gentleman will look to keep their unbeaten record when they play their makeup games. Maccabi Philly meanwhile will look to get back to winning way when they face Fishtown FC.

Philly Skyliners 2 –0 Devon SC

On the Bordertown SC field we had a matchup between two teams in need of a win to try and get away from the bottom of the standings. It would end up being Philly Skyliners who prevailed with two goals and a shutout to secure their first win of the season. The result leaves Devon SC and its 4-game losing streak as the last team in the standings, which they will look to change when they face top seeded Rebels on their next match. For the Skyliners, the next game in the schedule would be against the Philly Falcons when they will try to get their second win in a row.

Nations United 1-1 Philly Falcons

With a current streak of 3 unbeaten games against tough opposition, Nations United was looking to keep their form going against the Philly Falcon who were coming from a big win in their last game. With both teams in good form, it was a close matchup, neither team really was able to get ahead or control much of the game in the first half which would end with a scoreless tie. Both teams upped the tempo in the second half looking for a win. Nations United would open the scoring at the 72nd minute after #19 Rathsom took advantage of a deflected clearance to put the ball in the back of the net. Contrary to putting their arms down, the Falcons actually looked more motivated after conceding and eventually found the tie with a goal form #72 Brizuela in the 82nd minute. Neither team was able to pull ahead in the closing minutes with the game ending on tie. Philly Falcons will face the Philly Skyliners next trying to keep their current form. Meanwhile, Nation United will try to keep their unbeaten streak going, but hopefully with a win after 3 straight ties, when they face Leaders FC.

Rebels 3-1 Vidas FC

It was an afternoon clash at Bristol Municipal Park that saw first placed Rebels face off against Vidas FC that was coming of an impressive 5 goal tie against Philly Skyliners. The game was exciting with chances on both sides but it was Vidas FC who would take the lead with a goal by #35 Scarpato at the 15th minute mark. Rebels responded quickly with a goal scored by #17 Petro after which both teams kept looking for the lead, with chances on both goals but it would not be until the second half when those would come. Rebels took the lead on 52nd minute after #14 Kelley took advantage of a loose ball in a corner kick to put his team ahead. Vidas kept their intensity looking for the tie but were not able to beat Patel whowas able to hold them off until #17 Petro bagged his second goal of the day to seal the win for the Rebels. Despite Petro’s 2 goal performance both captains gave a shoutout to goalkeeper Patel as man of the match. “Their goalie played awesome” said Vidas captain Vanin, while Masi, Rebels captain, added “Patel made several huge saves to keep us in the game… He was definitely man of the match”. The win will keep Rebels at the top of the standings for another week as they wait for the result of Club Sandwich makeup game. For Vidas FC this marks their 4th straight game without a win, a streak they will look to end when they face Club Sandwich on their next game.

Club Sandwich 2-1 Dead Ball SC

At RAMP Soccer Field, Club Sandwich looked to keep their unbeaten status when they faced the always competitive Dead Ball SC. It was a closely contested game which saw its first goal at the 38th minute mark when #18 Fedele curled a left footed shot past the goalkeeper from the top of the 18-yard box to give Club Sandwich the lead and a little more control of the game. In the second half Club Sandwich would find a second goal when #9 Bown forced a turnover in the opposition half and immediately fired a shot past the keeper around the 57th minute. Dead Ball continued fighting despite being down by 2 and would eventually find a goal with 20 minutes to go when #16 Lumarque received a cross that he will strike with his left to beat the keeper and put Dead Ball on the scoreboard. Dead Ball continued looking for the tie but Club Sandwich defense were able to hold them off in the last 20 minutes to secure the win. “It was definitely a closely contested game and we are happy to have hung on” said Club Sandwich captain Lampazzi, “I have to say Dead Balls can certainly play with any of the top table teams” something they’ll have to do when they face SJ Gentleman in their next game. Meanwhile Club Sandwich will put their unbeaten record to the test when they face Fishtown FC this Sunday.

Washington Square Soccer Club 2 – 1 Mark Walhbergs Cousins

Winless in their last 2 game and looking for chance to get points for the first time since week 2, Washington Square SC (2-3-0) fell behind early to Mark Walhbergs Cousins (0-4-0) 1-0 when they capitalized on a great through ball that split the defense in the 10th min. Just 5 mins into the 2nd half Washington would find their equalizer with a great ball in from #2 M. Gilson found #14 Savage to bring the game level at 1-1. Never one to steal the spot light, #14 Savage would pay it forward when he laid it off nicely to #2 M. Gilson who put away the game winner in the 83rd minute. With no team to rest, Washington must get ready for their Friday make up match against 1st place and still undefeated Oaklyn Academy (5-0-0) Mark Wahlbergs Cousins also have a Friday night game, facing Still Processing FC (1-4-0) who are coming off their first win of the season.

Oaklyn Academy 2 – 1 FC Delta

1st place Oaklyn Academy (5-0-0) fought off the attack of FC Delta (3-2-0) who were boasting back to back 4-1 wins. The match was physical and both teams showed a lot of passion for the game and for each other as things got heated on more than one occasion. Oaklyn maintained their backline and found themselves winning the majority of the 50/50 balls in their half and in the midfield. FC Delta and their inability to press really disrupted their normal flow for the game as they found themselves caught ball watching and losing their defensive shape. A late goal by #80 Fredrick made the game interesting for the final few moments but FC Delta were unable to find that 2nd goal and walked away with no points in what could have been a winnable game. Oaklyn Academy continue their reign at the top of the standings and will be back at it in short time when they take on Washington Square S.C (2-3-0) in a few days. FC Delta hope to shake off todays loss and get back to their winning ways when they take on Mark Walhbergs Cousins (0-4-0) in week 7.

Inter Phila 1 – 1 Grapes FC

Inter Phila (4-1-1) came into their match against Grapes FC (2-1-2) undefeated the past 3 weeks while Grapes FC is fresh off a loss to Rapid Daybreak FC. Both teams came out flat, playing with and into the wind respectively, Inter and Grapes had difficulty maintaining possession and spent alot of time chasing the ball on both sides. Grapes FC would get the early lead with a good build up play from #17 Hill who took full advantage of his chance in front of goal. Inter would have a chance to pull it level with a PK awarded for a handball in the box but a great save from Grapes FC keeper and Man Of the Match #1 Tyler Macintyre would keep Grapes FC out in front. Shortly after the great save the defense of Grapes FC would break down and Inter would bring the match level at 1-1 right before the end of the first half. Inter would dominate the 2nd half of the game and would pin Grapes FC back on their heels but failed to convert the chances they created unless you count the goal that was waived off for offside that Inter Phila will swear was not off and they will take that opinion to their collective graves. Inter Phila will need to get a result in the next match against Still Processing FC (1-4-0) if they intend to take over in 1st place. Grapes FC will look to put this game behind them and focus on their next match against the winless Mark Walhbergs Cousins (0-4-0)

Still Processing FC 3 – 2 Telle Bouche FC

Still Processing FC (1-4-0) who were looking for their first win and Telle Bouche FC (1-4-1) played in a great back and fourth match that saw a crazy deflection, a own goal along with a off the post banker and great set up play that would see both teams tied 2-2 at the half. It was clear Still Processing FC wanted every aerial as they won just about all of them, that along with a smooth transition from their own half up to their attacking mids found the possession that would lead to #21 Winiarz being alone at the top of the box. Winiarz who was calm on the ball, took a touch and found space before letting off a rocket into the top right corner of the net. His game winner would secure Still Processing FC’s first win of the season while the disappointing result for Telle Bouche has become almost routine. With only a few days before their next match, Still Processing FC will take the time to enjoy the win as they prepare for their Friday night match against Mark Walhbergs Cousins (0-4-0) who will be looking to secure their first win of the season. Telle Bouche will play against the other winless team in Quinto, UCFC (0-6-0) and are due for a win.

Sporting Philadelphia FC 5 – 2 New Wave FC

Sporting Philadelphia FC (4-0-1) undefeated this season took New Wave FC (2-1-1) who havent won since week 2 to task in a very one sided match. Sporting pressed hard out the gate and New Wave FC was able to absorb the constant pressure on their midfield and backline and found themselves on wrong side of 3-0 score line just 11mins into the game. New Wave FC would catch their breath and get their defense in order long enough to stop the bleeding in the first half but would cough up another goal just a few minutes into the 2nd half. Sporting would come out on top and remain undefeated as New Wave FC struggles continue. With Grapes FC (2-1-2) up next, New Wave FC will try to re-tool their defense and midfield in hopes it creates more chances for them to get a result. In what could be a battle of the unbeatens pending Friday’s result, Sporting Philadelphia FC look to their next match against the current 1st place Oaklyn Academy (5-0-0) as they try to knock the kings down and take over 1st place.

Rapid Daybreak FC (4-2-0) ran UCFC (0-6-0) into the ground with their quick passing and midfield possession. UCFC were looking for their first win of the season but found themselves down 3-1 heading into the 2nd half. With a great overall performance from their captain, #23 J. Ross anchored Rapid Daybreak FC to the 5-3 victory on the back of his 2 goals and great playmaking that saw Rapid win its 2nd game in as many weeks. S.O.B Athletic 2 – 0 Kensington

S.O.B Athletic (2-3-1) tasted victory for the first time with a great team effort in their win against Coyotes FC last week and Kensington (1-4-1) surprised everyone with a 1-1 draw against Honey Badgers FC last week. The 2-0 score doesn’t reflect fairly on Kensington, who kept the ball in their opponents half of the pitch for the majority of the match. Kensington had more than their fair amount of chances but failed to find that last pass or the clinical finishing needed to convert. Going up 2-0 in the first half, the 2nd half played out just like the first with Kensington keeping the possession and the S.O.B’s defending and doing so with a no quit spirit. Exhausted but motivated, S.O.B Athletic enjoy their 2nd win in as many weeks and Kensington still find themselves looking for that final pass as they leave several chances on the pitch not converted. Kensington will need to figure out their offensive production issues if they hope to turn it around in their upcoming match against Birdeaux FC (2-4-0) and S.O.B Athletic have a tall task upcoming with their next match being against a very strong Hamilton FC (4-2-0)

Honey Badgers FC 8 – 0 Coyotes FC

Having scored only 1 goal last week in their draw against Kensington, Honey Badgers FC (5-0-1) was focused on getting back to their high press/high scoring ways. Unfortunately for Coyotes FC (1-5-1) they havent won since week 1 and having allowed 18 goals and scoring only 5 in the past 5 weeks it didnt take long too long before the flood gates opened. Still suffering from roster issues, Coyotes FC required the help of several players from other teams just to field enough players to be somewhat competitive. Coyotes FC kept it close in the first half but still found themselves down 3-0 and down a man at the start of the 2nd half. Playing with only 10 men, Coyotes FC were picked up apart by the aggressive press style of Honey Badgers FC and the impressive footwork of #17 Martinez who had another Man of the Match performance. Everyone on HBFC wanted to get in on the scoring as their starting keeper played out in the field for the 2nd half and converted a PK in the ’73 minute. Another big win for the 1st place Honey Badgers who face off against Dyslexia Untied (3-2-1) in week 7, Coyotes FC will need alot more than just a handful of guest players when they take on the dangerous FC BTC (3-3-0) in their upcoming match.

Mighty Ducks (5-0-1) failed to convert any of their chances last week which resulted in a 0-0 tie no one saw coming, while Birdeaux (2-4-0) coming off a win looked sharp in their match last week. In the Battle of the Birds, the Ducks scored their goals in bunches and left Birdeaux picking the ball out of the back of their net more then they would like. With his 6 goal performance, Man of the Match and captain of the Ducks #6 Nick Green said he wouldnt be half the player he is today without the guidance of his mentor Hans. Mighty Ducks face off against Boys Do Cry (4-2-0) in their continued quest in week 7 to take over 1st place.

Hamilton FC (4-2-0) fresh off their close win over the Philadelphia Strikers dismantled the defense of Dyslexia Untied (3-2-1) who were coming off an impressive 4 game unbeaten streak. The run that Dyslexia was on came to a screeching halt courtesy of Hamilton FC and their core group of playmakers. Jumping out to a quick 1-0 lead just 5 minutes into the match, Hamilton FC managed the game well and cruised to their 4th win of the season. With the 6-0 result that has Dyslexia seeing stars, they will need to refocus and hope to regain that momentum when they go up against 1st place Honey Badgers FC (5-0-1) in week 7. Hamilton FC will take on the streaking S.O.B Athletic (2-3-1) in their week 7 match up. Week 7 give Birdeaux FC a chance to turn it around when they take on the ever dangerous yet very beatable Kensington (1-4-1) in week 7.

Boys Do Cry 8 – 1 Philadelphia Strikers

Boys Do Cry (4-2-0) coming off 2 big wins in a row, took on the Philadelphia Strikers (0-5-1) who were winless in their last 2 games. Heading into the start of the 2nd half with a modest 2-0 lead, Boys Do Cry let loose in and started to score goals in bunches, scoring 6 goals in just under 15mins the Boys dominated the Strikers who had no answer for the quick 1 touch passing of Boys Do Cry. In a game where Man of The Match could have easily went to #19 Steve Tice who was playing in his 4,000th league game, #12 J. Roche matched his effort and added just enough to the midfield play to get him the accolade Steve Tice has been so accustomed to being awarded. Philadelphia Strikers continue to struggle in the 2nd half and the loss keeps them cemented to that last place spot on the standings, the Strikers hope to get points in the next match against Rapid Nightfall FC (3-3-0) Boys Do Cry will have their toughest match to date when they take on the mightiest of Mighty Ducks (5-0-1) in their next match.

FC BTC (3-3-0) and Rapid Nightfall FC (3-3-0) find themselves battling it out in the middle of the table courtesy of their consistently inconsistent play. Both teams came into the match suffering a loss in the previous week, FC BTC came out swinging and jumped ahead to a 3-1 lead with a rocket of a shot by #12 Kravitz just as the hour mark passed.
