The Union trailed for fifty minutes after conceding to Red Bulls sometimes US international Sacha Kljestan, before equalizing on long distance connection between Jack Elliott and Roland Alberg (that Shep Messing declared was offside despite possessing zero evidence). Fixed, thanks.
lol i didn’t know omar epps played for the union
I watched the Union game on the PC and the Cincinnati-Chicago game on TV. What struck me was how Jimmy MacLaughlin was kicking A… for Cincinnati. How could the Union not see his potential?! Thought he played way better than any of our strikers. One of his shots hit an arm that should have been a PK. So happy for him that he found someone who believed in him and that his team is now in the quarter-finals. What struck me as well was how much more folks in Cincinnati seem to get into the game than here at Talen.
I was doing the same thing and came here to comment the same thing about Jimmy, haha. How did the Union not see his potential?
.
I do believe he was playing as a wide midfielder though and the Union have depth and talent there. Not so sure he’d be a striker, but can never have too much depth.
.
Hope he gets another shot at MLS.
Agreed. McLaughlin looked really good. Corben Bone though… how do you not even get a shot off on basically a 20 yard breakaway?!? BONESAW!!! HAHA. Congrats to Cincy and Miami… love seeing NASL vs USL next round
definitely. big statement game going to semis from your respective league
Shep Messing sucks by the way. He was obnoxious to listen to… and I don’t even mean his homer-ism. He’s brutal.
I really wanted to find something to link to talk about this but the best I could do was a twitter search. Someone write it!
