The Union struggled to produce from the starting striker position in 2016, and a real battle for the starting spot is shaping up during training camp.
Jay Simpson, the offseason striker signing from England’s Leyton Orient, calls in from Florida to talk with KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Mike Servedio. Simpson talks about the process that brought him to the Union, how he’s fitting in with his teammates, and his strong relationship with C.J. Sapong and Charlie Davies. Greg gets to ask the question he’s waited a lifetime to ask: what’s it like coming through the Arsenal academy?
Greg and Mike go on to talk about the injury to Josh Yaro, the signing of Adam Najem, and some of the preseason tea leaves.
