The international break now over, Philadelphia Union are back on the pitch this weekend, and the KYW Philly Soccer Show is here to get you ready for Sunday’s very big game.
Veteran midfielder Brian Carroll joins KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Mike Servedio to talk about the Union as they get ready for their last two regular season games.
On Sunday, the team hosts Orlando City at Talen Energy Field and a win will all but guarantee the team its first playoff appearance since 2011. Greg and Mike talk to Carroll, who won and MLS Cup with both DC United and Columbus Crew, about what it takes to have success in the postseason. They also ask the 35-year-old about what his plans may be as his playing career begins to wind down.

Canada was actually close to qualifying for the hex, given they were in a group with Mexico and Honduras. With one game to go they needed to beat El Salvador (which they did 3-1) and hope Mexico beat Honduras in Mexico and make up a 5 goal differential. Obviously, it would have helped to win by more, but since Mexico drew Honduras, they were out anyway. Still, if they played Mexico last when Mexico didn’t care, the results might have been different.
