The Philadelphia Union Academy is starting bear fruit, and one of the newest products of the system is the guest on the latest edition of the KYW Philly Soccer Show.
Delaware County native Auston Trusty joins KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Mike Servedio to talk about being a part of the Philadelphia Union organization almost from when the team it started.
Trusty recently signed a professional contract with the team, forgoing a chance to play for the University of North Carolina. He joins another academy product, Derrick Jones, who also recently signed for the team.
Trusty talks about what it is like being part of the big club after moving through the ranks. He says he hopes to be a role model for the other young players still in the Union Academy.
Greg and Mike then talk about the 3-1 home loss last Saturday against the always tough Toronto FC. The team has a chance to bounce back tonight, though, as they visit the Columbus Crew on Wednesday before hosting Sporting Kansas City on Saturday.

What a talkative kid.
Loved his energy. Sounds like he just woke up on Christmas morning
I think he’s the first player you’ve had to add “besides the Union” to when asking what teams they rooted for growing up 🙂
