In the latest edition of the KYW Philly Soccer Show, KYW’s Greg Orlandini and CBS-3’s Kevin Kinkead talk with Philadelphia Union rookie Fabian Herbers.
The German-born forward was drafted 6th overall in this year’s MLS SuperDraft and has played mainly as a sub. He scored his first goal against Columbus in Chester on a wonderful, curling shot that was the game-winner in the team’s 3-2 victory on June 1.
Herbers talks about the journey that took from life in the German countryside to Creighton University and eventually to MLS and the Philadelphia Union.
Then, Kevin and Greg talk about the US Men’s National team. After a rocky start against Colombia to begin to their Copa America campaign, the US defeated both Costa Rica and Paraguay to advance out of their group and face Ecuador on Thursday night in the quarterfinals.

Good news that Herbers is pursuing a green card. Always helps both player and club to avoid international player roster restrictions.
