Young Philadelphia Union defender Richie Marquez, one of the bright spots of a tough season, is the guest on the latest edition of the KYW Philly Soccer Show.
Marquez joins KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Eli Pearlman-Storch to talk about his emergence on the Union.
Marquez, who spent most of his 2014 rookie season on loan to the Harrisburg City Islanders, talks with Greg and Eli about what it’s like coming from the Division III University of Redlands in California and making it all the way to the pros.
After that, Greg and Eli discuss the Union owning a USL affiliate.

21 pts lost after gaining a lead. That’s so upsetting.
I’m sorry, Ray Gaddis is horrible. He looks so out of place in todays MLS, and lacks the soccer IQ and dribbling/passing ability to be a valuable player. Next season I hope that he’s purely a depth player, coming off the bench. Only an idiot would say he’s starter quality!
