Philadelphia Union forward CJ Sapong joins KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Eli Pearlman-Storch on this week’s KYW Philly Soccer Show.
Acquired from Sporting Kansas City in the offseason, the former MLS Rookie of the Year scored his first goal for Philadelphia last Thursday, scoring the 86th minute equalizer in the 1-1 draw against NYCFC at Yankee Stadium.
Last Sunday, he started against New England at PPL Park. In both games he played with the protective mask he’s had to wear since recovering from the facial fracture he suffered in the season opener against Colorado.
After their chat with Sapong, Eli and Greg discuss the Union’s 2-1 home defeat against the Revolution.
The Union opened the scoring with a brilliant free-kick goal in the first half from Cristian Maidana before allowing two unanswered second half goals in the loss.
