The USA has made it through!
Despite a 1-0 loss to Germany in the final group game, the Yanks make it to the Round of 16 in the World Cup for the second straight tournament.
In the latest edition of the KYW Philly Soccer Show, KYW Newsradio’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Eli Pearlman-Storch are joined by Kevin Kinkead of CBS3 and Soccerly to talk about the US’ achievement.
Jurgen Klinsmann’s men now have to prepare for the star-studded Belgium team, whom many picked before to the Cup to go deep in the competition.
The talk then turns to the Philadelphia Union, who have made it to the quarterfinals of the US Open Cup with an ugly 2-1 home win over the New York Cosmos of the NASL.
The win saw three late red cards, including one to Philly’s Michael Lahoud.
The Union returns to MLS action this Saturday when they travel to the New England Revolution, a team that gave the Union a 5-3 thrashing at PPL Park in May.
