The MLS Super Draft is coming to Philadelphia next week, and the Union, with eight draft picks, looks to be a major player this year.
In the latest edition of the Philly Soccer Show podcast, KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Eli Pearlman-Storch are joined in the studio by Philly.com‘s Jonathan Tannenwald. They dig deep into the draft with Sean Doyle, social media director of Reading United AC, the Union’s USL-PDL affiliate.
Reading has seen many of its players go on to play in MLS, including the Union’s Ray Gaddis.
Doyle talks about some of the prospects who played for Reading last year who are now available for the Super Draft.
Greg, Jonathan, and Eli then discuss the departure of Michael Farfan, who was sold to Cruz Azul AC, a team in Mexico’s top division, Liga MX.
Talk then turns to Philadelphia Union Homegrown Player Zach Pfeffer. The Dresher, Pa. native recently returned from a year-long loan to Hoffenheim and is looking to play a part in the Union’s plans for 2014.

I do find it funny how Corbin Bone doesn’t merit discussion… At All.
Thanks Ed that was a good listen. Agree with them that the Union need to take Dean with their 1st pick. Only if he’s gone can they even consider trading that pick. If they trade it for allocation money and announce that at the draft their may be an uprising from those in attendance
