Philadelphians Abroad

Philadelphians Abroad: Donatelli and Okafor score, Langley assists, looking for ladies

After a few exciting weeks for the locals, this week proved to be a relatively quiet one. Here are the highlights:

  • Glenside, PA native Tony Donatelli scored USL Pro side VSI Tampa Bay’s only goal in Friday night’s  2-1 loss at Pittsburgh.
  • Former Philadelphia Union and Swarthmore man Morgan Langley played a hand in Harrisburg’s third goal in Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Phoenix, providing the assist in the 67th minute.
  • Way off in the nether reaches of Scandanavia, Verona, NJ native Jon Okafor added his name to the tally sheet in Monday’s 3-0 win at JJK, scoring a goal in the 59th minute.

Given the lull in action from our boys and the USL PRO regular season wrapping in the next few weeks, it seems high time we look to provide some coverage of how the women of Philly are doing around the game. Just as our wonderful readership has helped in tracking the men, I would like to reach out to the PSP community to help me gather info for an upcoming edition of this column. Which of our ladies are making a splash on the game? Who are our up and coming gals? Are local women plying their trades across the pond? Please use the comment section below to tell us who you’d like to hear about!
