Philadelphians Abroad: Richter to Toronto, R.J. Allen starts, and HGPs to Harrisburg

Southampton, Pa. native and former Philadelphia Union man Ryan Richter has signed with Toronto FC. Richter was previously set to play for the Charleston Battery of the USL Pro League.

Old Bridge, N.J. native and former PDA talent R.J. Allen started in the first post-winter break game for his new club Skive IK of the Danish 1st Division.

Former Junior Lone Star FC forward and Philadelphian Anthony Allison is on trial with Swedish First Division side Umea FC. Allison contributed to both goals during the team’s 2-1 win over Selanger SK in a pre-season match on Sunday.

On Monday, Philadelphia Union announced that it was sending both of its remaining Home Grown Players on loan to Harrisburg as part of the two teams’ expanded partnership. Cristhian Hernandez and Jimmy McLaughlin will also be accompanied by the Union’s 2012 MLS SuperDraft 2nd round pick Greg Jordan.

The Union’s other Homegrown Player, Zach Pfeffer, along with Hoffenheim teammate and Lancaster, PA. native Russell Canouse, is back with his club after a ten day camp with the US U-18s that included games against France and Romania.

Middletown, Pa. native Jason Pelletier and Mechanicsburg’s Andrew Welker will return to Harrisburg for the 2013 season.

Finally, former PDA talent Alex DeJohn of Marlboro, N.J. (along with former teammate Yanaldinho) has signed with Ekenas IF in Finland. DeJohn was selected by New England in the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft.
