Philadelphians Abroad: Donatelli cuts H-burg’s playoff run short

With only two goals and zero assists between the lot, it was something of a slow week for the area’s boys. But both of those goals came in the USL PRO playoffs.

Tony Donatelli’s late first half goal for Charleston Battery against Harrisburg City Islanders proved to be the game-winner and ended the City Islanders 2012 season. Jimmy McLaughlin, on loan from the Union, and former Union player JT Noone, both saw minutes for Harrisburg in the loss.

Jason Yeisley scored in Richmond Kickers loss to Wilmington Hammerheads in the USL PRO playoffs. Local lad Ryan Heins started along with Yeisley for Richmond while Corey Hertzog, on loan from New York Red Bulls, started for Wilmington.

With plenty of MLS play in the week ahead and the USL playoffs entering the semi-final round, we’re sure to see some action over the next week.

Have a good week!
