Women’s soccer leads the way this week on the KYW Philly Soccer Show when KYW’s Greg Orlandini is joined by Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch and PSP‘s Philadelphia Independence beat writer Mike Servedio.

The Independence heads to Rochester, NY to face the Western New York Flash for the WPS crown on Saturday, August 27 (4pm, CSN).

In Part One the panel breaks down the Independence’s win over MagicJack that took them to the finals. Tasha Kai and back-in-form striker Amy Rodriguez each had a goal in the 2-0 win. But the Flash are a tough opponent, boasting several stars from this year’s Women’s World Cup including Marta, Christine Sinclair and Alex Morgan.

In Part Two, while Hurricane Irene has washed out the Union’s match against New England at PPL Park on Sunday, there is still plenty of Union-related topics to talk about. The team dropped a tough match against Columbus last weekend and slipped to fourth in the standings. The pod panel also look at how new signing Freddy Adu is doing with the team.

In Part Three, the focus shifts to the US Men’s National team. Coach Jurgen Klinnsman has called in his roster for two upcoming friendlies against Costa Rica and Belgium.  The pod looks at the names on the US roster and talks about the great start some US players are having in Europe.
