The Union will return the favor of Seattle hosting their first game by hosting the Sounders at the first game at the new Union stadium on Sunday, June 27th.
Ten of the first twelve games of the season will be away. Union president Tom Veit told the Daily News, “We wanted to make sure that everything was in order for our home opener to ensure that our fans will receive the best experience possible in our new stadium.”
The April 10th game against DC United and the May 15th game against FC Dallas will be at Lincoln Financial Field.
The opening game at the new stadium, which will start at 5pm and is one of 17 nationally televised Union games in 2010, will be on ESPN2.
Be there. Be proud. Be loud.
10 of 12 road games to start the season, absolutely brutal.
I guess by the time we see them in our own stadium, we’ll know if they’re a good team…
