Jim Curtin hosted some of the Eagles at Talen Energy Stadium. I’m sure they were there to see Curtin and not support Julie Ertz in her SheBelieves Cup match against Japan…

    .
Seems like we may have another player they are looking at signing, but no hint of who or what position.
    .
Also seems like we may be running an old midfield to start the year with Fabian, Ilsinho, Bedoya, and Haris. Would much rather see Jones in there, but maybe they can tear Toronto apart. Also looks like Gaddis is going to be starting (yuck).
    .
There are also some pretty brutal quotes from Tanner in there about Steel’s lineup last year. And right on cue they have brought in another foreign player. Tanner definitely is not willing to wait to raise the level which is appreciated.

    • just read what you link, out of curiosity about the quotes on the Steel lineup.
      .
didn’t see anything. to what do you refer?

    • in re a 26th player for the Union:
      .
Brendan Burke went on record earlier today that Michee Ngalina has never practiced with Bethlehem this season.
      .
Once Bethlehem makes all their expected roster announcements, their roster will be 13 with Ngalina and will include 8 internationals.
      .
at that point Bethlehem would still be in compliance with the USL minimum were the first team to sign Ngalina, and it would bring them into compliance with the limit on internationals.
      .
      Obviously I engage in guesswork.

  2. For those who may be interested, Jim Curtin was interviewed on 97.5 this morning, at around 9:30. I believe 97.5 puts out podcasts of all their interviews – though I’m not 100% sure, and would have no way of knowing how to even check (I’ve never listened to downloaded a podcast in my life).
    .
The interview lasted about 10 minutes, and touched on non-Union stuff as much as it did Union topics. There was discussion, for example, about the Eagles players at the game; there was also discussion about the Sixers, though in that case there was at least a little bit of a tie-in in that Curtin talked about how having conversations with Brett Brown have been good for his learning curve as a coach.
    .
Still, the fact that Curtin was able to get an on-air interview is a big step in the right direction. Finally.
