  1. Quote from Ernie in the article, “Do results worry me? Yeah, they worry me, but what worries me even more is when you don’t create chances. When you miss chances, I don’t worry that much. That’s sometimes the quality of the player.”

“When you miss chances I don’t worry that much” Does this mean he is not worried about the striker position because he thinks there is a big element of luck?

    or,

“That’s sometimes the quality of the player.” Does this mean we are going to get a player of better quality to address this issue?

I suspect it is the first since I do not see any evidence that they are trying to obtain anyone in the trade window.

    • dude is gone in days. not his problem anymore

    • I think it makes sense.

Lack of chances indicates a general problem with (mostly) EVERYTHING, all players on offense and defense and could indicate maybe your system sucks and you don’t know how to create offense.

Missing chances simply means CJ fucking sucks.

If it’s the first thing – you need to bring in many new players and maybe implement a new system.

If its the second – buy new striker. Done.

  2. a few things:
-Union looked good at halftime but knowing they should’ve scored more was frustrating. Sure, we scored a goal, but it wasn’t enough given the pressure. and sure enough, that second half drag. i give them credit for seeing it out and Jim’s subs were well-timed to do that.
-visiting Toronto fans might have put the nail in if flares should be allowed at games debate.
-i’m already going out to west coast next month but if the Sept final is LAFC v Union and we’re not hosting again… gonna hate life
-if you haven’t listened to it, Gov. Murphy was on the Philly soccer show podcast last month. sounds completely oblivious to the tidal wave that just hit him. praises Sky Blue, saying USSF should support the league more. Sky Blue should fold given the toxic environment there. https://omny.fm/shows/kyw-philly-soccer-show/new-jersey-governor-phil-murphy-on-his-passion-for
-Did i read Petke AND their team were separately fined $10,000? team for social media posts supporting him.
-Coach-Dentist might not be the sexiest title but damn, impressive run. should be proud.

  3. Draw postponed because the Timbers are filing a complaint about the # of foreign players LAFC fielded in last night’s matchup…interesting.

  4. It’s limited to 5 of full 18 including those that didn’t play?
So we have 6_7 but two might have green cards?
Orlando probably doesn’t care but if Portland successful it may prompt review of all cup games.
    Ugh.
But it’s what USSF does, foul up everything for soccer in America. Saw article about huge drop in youth soccer players since birth year and other changes they implemented 3 years ago. Then read nwsl near collapse with only 9 teams and everyone calling for one of those to be dissolved. I blame ussf for that as well.
Ridiculous. Hope solo should have been elected ussf president.
