Player of the week: Santi Moar

This is the week of Sebastien Le Toux. His one day contract, his tearful press conference, and the flurry of articles about his impact on a franchise that has no one else in its Ring of Honor and won’t for some time to come. Sebastien Le Toux isn’t this week’s Player of the Week. Instead, maybe he’s the franchise’s Player of all Time.

This week’s honor, however, goes to Bethlehem Steel FC attacker, Santi Moar. The second year Spaniard out of Pfieffer University put a goal and an assist past the Richmond Kickers over the weekend, helping earn the squad a 3-1 come-from-behind victory and their first win in nearly two months.

It seems Moar’s contributions weren’t missed by USL league officials either. He was named to the league’s Team of the Week, as well.

Steel play Charleston Battery this weekend, May 12th at 7pm. You can watch Moar and his mates on ESPN+.

Honorable mention

Tommy Heinemann, Penn FC. He netted two goals to lead his club to a win over Tampa Bay in USL play.

Moar also hit a post, a crossbar, and drew a yellow card from the Richmond defender marking him.

My comment is in no way to be construed as criticism of Chris Gibbons. I got to watch Moar do all these things from the press box.
