Akron keeper gets ready for the opening match against Stanford.

It was a tightly contested first 45 minutes of play. 

Stanford’s keeper Nico Corti was a standout all season, Friday night was no exception.

Indiana supporters were in full voice all evening as their singing echoed through Talen Energy Stadium.

They even brought a marching band just to be a little louder.

North Carolina dominated the first portion of the half, but Indiana looked to formulate a few chances of their own.

Indiana fans rejoice as the watch their side take a 1-0 lead.

Indiana’s #15 would be a player to watch the whole tournament, playing two exceptional matches from left back.

Relief for IU as they fend off North Carolina’s relentless pressure in the final minutes. Sunday’s final is set… Indiana v. Stanford.

The two teams are introduced before the opening kick.

This matchup has 0-0 draw written all over it and looked to be a defensive battle led by this man; Stanford’s senior center-back Tomas Hilliard-Arce.

It was a stalemate in which most of the action occurred in the midfield.

Fatigue became a factor as this match was headed for overtime.

One period of overtime was not enough but in the second it was that man once again for Stanford. Sam Werner nets the game winner. 

Pure jubilation.
