In the latest KYW Philly Soccer Show, Philadelphia Union defender Sheanon Williams joins KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Eli Pearlman-Storch to talk about the team’s playoff push.

Just as a playoff berth was slipping out of reach, the Philadelphia Union secured its biggest win of the season, a tough 1-0 result at Sporting KC, to put them back in the hunt.

Williams, who, along with goalkeeper Zac MacMath and central defender Amobi Okugo, had a standout performance against Sporting, talks about the remaining four regular-season games for the Union, which include two very winnable games, first against Toronto at PPL Park this weekend and then on the road against DC United at RFK next weekend.

Greg and Eli then look at some of the issues dogging the Union right now.

Despite the win, the goal against Sporting KC was only the second by the team in six games. The offense has been sputtering since mid-August, with striker Jack McInerney not seeing the back of the net since June 1 when he scored the late equalizer against Toronto.

One bright note against Kansas City was Michael Farfan, who put in one of his best performances in what has been an up-and-down season.

But now, the Union will need all hands on deck if they hope to make the post-season.
