On Monday evening, MLS released the list of players available for the first stage of the Re-Entry Process, which will take place on Friday.
Goalkeeper Chase Harrison was the only Philadelphia Union player on the list, the option on his contract being declined.
Six former Union players are on the list: Alejandro Moreno and Danny Califf (Chivas USA); Kyle Nakazawa and Brian Perk (LA Galaxy); Justin Mapp and Shavar Thomas (Montreal Impact). Of the six former Union players, only Mapp is out of contract, the rest being option declined.
The announcement from the league notes, “Clubs may still sign their Re-Entry Process eligible players through 5 pm ET on December 6. Additionally, eligible players may opt out of the Re-Entry Process between now and 5 pm ET on December 6.”
The first sate of the Re-Entry Process will take place on Friday at 3pm. The order of the selection process will be the same as the Waiver Draft, which means that the Union is fifth in the order.
Stage Two will take place at the same time on Friday, December 17.
Harrison first joined the Union in 2011 from Harrisburg City Islanders.
Kerith Gabriel reports on the club website, “After speaking with members of the Union technical staff, philadelphiaunion.com was told it’s a decision that was made more due to MLS protocol and less of a desire to rid itself of Harrison, or his contract.”

Will Hesmer, Kevin Hartman and Bill Gaudette all on that list. Would have to think the U would grab one of them, no?
Gaudette possibly. Not the other two until they can renegotiate a contract. Their salaries are probably more than the Union want to pay, particularly if MacMath comes off GA.
