The MLS has announced that it will continue the current neutral site format for the 2010 MLS Cup final. Moving the site of the final to the home stadium of the higher seeded team remains a possibility for the future.

Manager Owen Coyle will leave Burnley for Bolton Wanderers. Burnley are currently in 14th place, two points above 18th place Bolton.

Sir Alex Ferguson will face no action from the FA for his criticism of the amount of stoppage time awarded in Man Utd’s FA Cup loss to Leeds on Sunday. Ferguson is currently under triple secret probation for a series of disparaging comments made this season about referees.

France and Bayern Munich Energizer Bunny Franck Ribery has suffered another injury setback. Ribery recently had holes drilled into his toenails in an attempt to release the accumulation of blood and alleviate pain. The nails on both of his big toes have been removed following his latest injury.

American defender Eric Lijah has returned to Aston Villa from his loan to Lincoln City in League Two. He is likely to be loaned out again to a Championship side in the near future. Aston Villa will keep the terms of his loan short as they feel he is close to being ready to perform in the Premiership.

David Beckham was turned down by The Simpsons. Executive producer Al Jean told The Daily Mirror: “I had to phone David Beckham to tell him sorry – I didn’t think he was a big enough star for an American audience.” Jean continued, “I got a lot of grief about that.”
