A politician’s kickoff turn slapstick:

  1. Nice story by Tannenwald about Najem.

  2. Goal of the Week voting a great demonstration of the shortcomings of democracy. Rusnack’s goal was maybe the 4th best of the 5 and won with 49% of the vote. There was nothing at all special about Martinez’s goal, either, other than it tied the single-season record.

The GotW was indisputably Lee Nguyen’s fantastic tally. What a move to give himself the shot. And it got 1% of the vote. Ilsinho, who got 3% should have come in 2nd.

  3. The General’s shoe flying up in the air as he falls is just priceless.
