Lower Merion man and Philadelphia Union-loanee Jimmy McLaughlin came on in the 62nd minute and padded his goal count for USL Pro side Harrisburg in Friday’s matchup with VSI Tampa Bay, putting the nail in Tampa Bay’s coffin late in the second half of the 2-0 win. While video of the 87th minute tally is unavailable, the league’s website describes the goal:

“Harrisburg would add to its lead with three minutes to go as a cross from a counter-attack down the right found McLaughlin on the left side of the penalty area, and the on-loan Philadelphia Union midfielder curled a good shot into the right corner of the net.”

McLaughlin, who has four goals with the City Islanders, would start and go on to play 62 minutes in the 3-1 loss to Orlando the next day.

Chestnut Hill Academy product and Chicago Fire midfielder Jeff Larentowicz contributed to his side’s early success in his team’s 4-1 drubbing of D.C. at home. Already up 1-0 after 11 minutes, Larentowicz easily broke down the bottom dwellers of the league to set up Chicago’s insurance goal. After a goal kick by D.C. backup goalkeeper Joe Willis found the feet of former Union man Bakary Soumare, Chicago was off to the races. A quick volley from the back line found a streaking Larentowicz racing up the right side, out smarting the D.C. defense, Larentowicz cut back a quick cross just inside the box to an on-rushing Joel Lindpere, who slammed home the insurance goal.
