Williams clear from concussion, questionable for DC United game

A spokesperson for the Philadelphia Union has told the Philly Soccer Page that Sheanon Williams is clear from his injury from concussion but that his status for Thursday’s game against DC United at PPL Park is still questionable.

Williams suffered a concussion in the win against Columbus Crew on September 17 and was unable to play against Sporting Kansas City on September 23. Kyle Nakazawa started at right back against Kansas City but was quickly shifted to the midfield with Michael Farfan taking over the position.

Goalkeeper Thorne Holder is still out with the concussion he suffered in the Reserve League game against Columbus Crew on September 18.

The spokesperson told the PSP, “Thorne Holder is still out due to concussion, while Sheanon Williams is now clear from that injury.”

When asked if Williams was cleared to play on Thursday, the spokesperson said, “He’s questionable at the moment.”

Williams will be available for a live chat through the Union website on Wednesday afternoon from 1:30pm.
